Yes, I know, U2. I'm just angry about all of this and I know there's another side of the story between OH and DC.

Gina, everything you said yesterday was completely true.  You would think the surgeons would want higher success rates, and would learn what that takes.

I dont have much to do today.   Take some more things to good will.   My poor closet and dresser has never been this empty, but no point in filling them all the way back up yet.   I about 20 pounds from goal, so Im fighting the urge to buy to much except about a weeks worth of clothes.

I also have to go to the store and get some frosting and ice cream cones for a Christmas tree project.   Since all my friends kids are out of school we are going to do some crafts.  And whats a better craft then one they can eat.   Last year if I did this I would have eaten right along with them, but this year I know I will get sick if I start snacking away.   Its a great tool my RNY.  :)

Hi Gina!!

Well.. I tend to live my life with my head in the sand (at least on this site anyway) and had NO idea of what was going on.  I do not go to the Main board, so I checked a few things out and signed up for the new board to see what was going on.  I'm still not 100% sure what all happened, but I'm ok with that.  I won't concern myself with the drama.

I like our section of the little world here and tend to only go visit the Michigan board (its pretty dead now), the Plastic Surgery page and the Singles board.  I haven't been to the RNY board in a long time...

To-do list... work... start packing for vacation (WOOHOO!!), go into Traverse and get my nails done.  Tom's girls' Christmas is tomorrow night, had his Mom's Christmas and my families Christmas was on Sunday.  Its going to be a busy busy week!  At least my shopping is all done!!

Got to spend lots of baby time yesterday with Wynn.  She's such a doll and such a cuddler.

Hi Gina
We forgive you for the rant - I often feel that way about the insurance companies which are obviously for profit, and unless you can show that bariatric surgery is cost-effective, then it's not covered.  I was self-pay, so I determined for myself that getting aligned with a good surgeon, good nutritionist etc was a small cost to pay for improved health.

Is it ok if I bash the insurance companies?

Go for it!  The for-profit insurance companies definitely have their priorities goofed up when they give their CEOs millions and those they cover meaningless grief.

Rant away.  I agree about how many bariatric programs are doing a miserable job of educating pre ops and following up on post ops.  I know in my case it could have killed me.  I wouldn't recommend anyone have WLS where I had mine.  And I hope the insurance companies will wise up and realize that it is costing them a lot of money having uneducated people having WLS without proper follow up.
As for the new people, I hope there are enough vets around who care and will help educate them.  I hate to think that all the helpful people have left OH.  I know you haven't
I don't have a lot to offer but I know how to refer people to where they can get help.
