Good Morning rant. Be careful what you ask for

Seems like OH is a ghost ship of its former self. If you've read the main board the last few days you'll know why. I fear that since many of the more intelligent vets have left, the fools will rush in and start coddling the less than bright newbies and set them on a path of destruction.  Newbies won't get the warnings over and over that their doctors have zero nutritional training and tend to recommend vitamin plans that are woefully insufficient. Or, the newbies will fall for some idiot surgeon's "flavor of the month club" notion that since he has chosen to limit his protein intake it must be good for his WLS patients as well. {{sigh}} I think OH has taken us back 10 years. Without the experience factor of the vets we are again at the mercy of our idiot surgeons and their staff...most of them haven't learned a thing from their patients in 10 years because they won't listen to us for our experience. They just listen to see what they can fix by applying out of date medical crap from their textbooks, which doesn't begin to address WLS patients' needs. So, I guess OH is content to rebuild its forums and over-mod the entire situation.

If any of you LWs are OH goons, you should tell us who you are. Come clean and be honest.

As a newbie and pre op, I am saddened by what has happened here.  I need vital information and vital wake up calls from the vets.  I have relied on forums such as this to get the real scoop on different subjects ranging from dog food to purses but none have been as important as this.  I am greatful for those who have stuck around (or didnt get banned) through this because we newbies despirately need you.  Thank you.

Don't go on the main board much so I don't know what is going on.  I love this board and hope that everyone will stay here atleast with us.
Does OH pay people to moderate the boards?

Hi Gina! I haven't been on for awhile so I was shocked to see what has transpired. Sheer lunacy! I am 2 months out of surgery today and the things I have learned and still need to learn from the vets are many. Not sure WTH happened but the result is scarey for OH's newbies and fresh post-ops.

While I personally haven't given up on OH LW's, I am helping get the other site up and running.

Moderation is a needed feature but it can go overboard.

For those who would like to be in both places, it's not such a bad idea...we can help the newbies that come along while still learning and interacting with the vets that left.

And to be honest, the floodgate opened many months ago...we just went to FB at first. Some stuff we posted there, some here...so it's not really a new situation, just went high profile this week.

Hi Liz,
I haven't been feeling well for a while and haven't been on the LW board for some time.  I'm a friend of the secret FB group is there another OH group I should be going too?  I'm a little confused (maybe it's the cold medication LOL).  Would you help me out and steer me in the right direction?  I can't afford not to have all you vets help me through my new journey.

Thanks,
Melizabeth (Libby on FB)

It is sad on the main board. We are all adults, if you dont like someone's attitude, thats what the block button is for.
Without our veterans, I fear for our newbies. I know for a fact that I would not have been as successful and having good labs without your advice.

I haven't been on the main board in months and have not a clue what is going on.  I'm happy here with an occasional visit to RNY board, mainly to see what Poet Kelly is writing about and what is going on with Nik.  At the same time, don't think I will go there and find out, either.
