Good Morning LW Friends...
Btw, when was your surgery...just curious if you and I have the same or similar date. Mine was the 24th of Jan this year.
Duodenal Switch (Lap) 01-24-11 | Surgeon: Stephen Boyce | High weight: 250 in 2002 | Surgery weight: 203 | Lowest weight: 121 | Current weight: 135 | Goal weight: 135
I am having the same issue at 12 months out. I would like to lose another 10 lbs., but may be happy with another 5.
My NUT was saying that weight loss will be very slow at this point. I can expect 1/2 to 1 lb a month weight loss in general. She said if I get lots more exercise in, it may help me to lose more. I had a metabolic burn test done, and I should burn about 1200 calories a day. So doing simple math would tell me that to lose, I need to eat around 1000 calories a day and do vigorous exercise to lose.
After Christmas, I'm going to concentrate on counting the calories and adding more days in for working out. Right now I'm going to the gym 3x a week and doing 50 minutes of jogging on the treadmill, and then I'm doing about another 40 minutes of weight training.
I'm afraid at this point we really have to work it to get the last of the weight off; however, I'm confident I'll be able to maintain it after the hard work.
