I have a surgery date!!! YAAAYYYYY!!! WOOOO HOOOOO!!!!! I'm doin a happy dance!!!!  I'm having my bypass Aug. 2nd!!! I can't believe I got such a close date!!! The appointment went well. I've lost more weight and I was sweatin it because my bmi went down. But then the medical assistant measured me almost 2 inches shorter than the nurse did last time, so with my new "adjusted" height my bmi was 39.9!!!  So, it all worked out!

I start my week long protein shake/full liquid diet Wednesday and the day before surgery is all clear liquids. Then I have to do the dreaded bowel prep. But that's not so bad. It's not any fun, but it will be over soon enough and I'll be on my way to a healthier, happier, more active lifestyle!!!

I am SOOOO excited!!! Can ya tell?!? hehe

CONGRATULATIONS!!! You are on your way now!!!!  It's always great to hear that news, getting a date for surgery.  I shouted, I cried, and I shouted some more when the surgeon's office called me with mine.  You're lucky about having a one week liquid diet, I had to do two weeks.  Oh well, it's worth it all and so much more.  I went for my 1 week post op and had only lost 3 lbs so I'm trying not to be disappointed.  The weight WILL come off I know.  Keep us posted, especially when you go in for the surgery!

If you haven't taken measurements of your body, do it now while you are still early on.  MY OH has a health tracker under applications that will let you monitor your progress on a chart.  Sometimes the scale won't move because the body is catching up and shifting weight around... the measurements will show you that the surgery is still working.  I take mine once a month and don't sweat over the days the scale stays the same.  This early out, it is not a "stall"... it's the body taking a rest.  It's normal to start out slow so just measure your portions, get your protein, water, vitamins, and exercise in... it'll all come.  We didn't put all those pounds on overnight and it's not going to come off overnight either.  Enjoy the journey - you'll be a skinny mini before you know it.  :-)

Days 3 and 4 are the hardest for the liquid diet.  But the day of clear liquids I thought I was starving.  but you know surgery is the next day so you can do it.  Just have lots of stuff to drink that you like.  I did a lot of broth, Sobe 0, hot tea, cold tea, you get the picture.  Happily, I didn't have to do the bowel prep also.
