Good Morning. It too dang hot and other stuff
I solemnly swear I'll drink at least 20 more ounces of fluids today that are pure water, and I'll take an additional magnesium citrate and potassium supplement.

Another poll:
What substitutes are you using to replace old or unhealthy habits?
1) I'm still a grazer but instead of regular size microwave popcorn I use snack size.
2) I used to graze on peanuts and while they are fairly good for protein they also have a lot of carbs. I've recently discovered baby carrots and dip. Maybe not as much protein but they are a healthy complex carb and dip is just gravy for a DSr.
3) Instead of full size slices of bread, I use deli flats.
4) I think most everyone uses sugar substitutes.

Substitutes
Of course sugar
No bread at all sub for lettuce
My snacks have been popcorn and cheese or even a SF popsicle
I noticed I will go into the kitchen more lately and look around but never end up with food so that is good....
Question on Corn Bread and Avacado, I ADORE both are they no no's, every now and agains, or eat away?

Loving my protein coffees in the morning, no more beautiful italian bread toasted, bagels or sugary cereal here! Breakfast and me not agreeing until late in the morning.
1/2 of a low carb bar or protein ball to help fill that sweet tooth in the afternoon, no more bake goods.
Hope everyone stays cool and hydrated!

think about what I am eating in terms of "meals" not snacks. I allow myself 4-5. Usually do 4 but if I am really hungry, 5. That doesn't count my protein additions.
I always ate pretty healthy, just too much. I try to weigh my protein each meal but allow myself more veggies than the 1/4 c my plan calls for. Basically no carbs other than veggies and fruit.
If I have to have a bread something, I use low carb wraps. Only 1-2x a week.
Protein something at night instead of ice cream. Can be hot chocolate, frozen protein pudding, shake.

It's freezing over here in Australia and I'm struggling to stay warm. It's awful chilly standing on the platform waiting for morning train to work.
I'm a shocking grazer and that is probably why I'm not losing as much or as fast as I should be.
I can't eat bread, rice or pasta so that eliminates those for me. Haven't been able to digest them for many years even since very early lapband days. Seem the most carbs I get is from vegies and fruit and the occasional packet of crisps which I pick at over a couple of days.
Sugar I always substitute since the early days of some bad sugar experiences such as extreme belly pain, diarrhea and fainting. So I don't even sniff at sugar at all these days.
Snacks I try to stick to cheese, sugar free jello, protein shake or fruit.
Cheers from Karin (in Oz)
I have made lots of substitutes to my old habits.
Instead of eating all 3 meals out - I now cook, mostly on the weekends and eat that during the week. I try to limit my eating out to no more than 2-3 times a week, some weeks it is none.
Instead of pasta in Mac & Cheese, I use cauliflower. I also use cauliflower instead of potatoes in lots of dishes.
Instead of spaghetti noodles, I use spaghetti squash.
Splenda/Equal instead of sugar.
I eat a lot more fruits/veggies than white carbs/pasta.
I use Hood Calorie Countdown Milk instead of Fat Free Milk - lot less carbs.
I'm still working on substituting exercise for going home to sit on the couch - I keep relapsing on this one!!!
Hope everyone has a great weekend.
Linda
