Vitamin Questions
I like and take the Centrum Silver Chewables. Just buy a small bottle to start and after surgery if you can't stand it anymore, get something else. I also like the Bariatric Advantage Watermelon.
As far as chewable calcium citrate, I love the BA Chewy bites, they now have them in chocolate, lemon, carmel and something else. BA also has a lozenge, but the texture and taste can be a bit too much initially. Like Ruthie said, the texture is different but it didn't bother me.
And What Gina said regarding the D... Dr's tend to prescribe a D2 which doesn't work for us...

I'm so glad you are asking questions! Your vitamins and supplements are super important and some take the whole idea too lightly.
I can't do chewables except for the Bariatric Advantage SF Calcium Citrate Chewy Bites (my chocolate fix in the afternoon) because they all make me gag. I haven't had any trouble with capsules since the very beginning.
When I got my labs I was low in Vitamin A and D so I buy my supplements from Vitalady so I know I'm getting the right stuff.

Celebrate Vitamins does offer free samples, and it's quite a nice package. I received one and it came with so much - I have liked all the flavors so far, I am pre-surgery but the nice thing is they gave me so many that I can keep some to try post-op. And I like that they are Gluten-free.

No oil-based... meaning gelcaps, right Gina?
No beta-carotene?? Isn't that a great anti-oxidant? (but possibly useless as a source of Vitamin A?) Just guessin...
Jodi, I do believe the other flavor of the chewy bites is lemon. I got some free off the BA rep at support group. He passed out samples to everyone and, at the end of the meeting, had no desire to take an opened bag half-full back to the airport with him. heh heh

Centrum is an EXCELLENT vitamin. I took it for most of my post-op years. I only recently switched to one of the Celebrates but only because it's more convenient. If you look at the labels, side-by-side, these 3 are very comparable.
