Yoga/pilates and me? Heck yeah!

I cant believe it. If someone told me 3 months ago, I would be doing yoga and pilates, I would have said no way!
But I am. I love it. Pilates is tough, and felt a little inadequate in class, but the instructor was great and encouraging. The yoga is amazing and helping me with my stress levels.  I am starting with a beginners, restorative and alignment in asana classes.
Who knows what I will try next! It feels so good to move my body.
Coming from someone who hates to exercise, except for walking, this is big.
So if you are like me, keep trying different things, until you find something that works for you.
Have a great day!

I'm so excited to hear this, Maria!

It's amazing what doors this surgery opens up for us!  You'll probably be teaching pilates (or qualified to do so) by this time next year.  ;)

Lets just say, I feel the weakness leaving all over my body! LOL
I feel a little sore all over especially in the abs, but not too bad. I thought I would miss my ibuprofen, but didnt even need a tylenol.
How do you feel after ballet?

You aren't even 2 months out.  What an inspiration.  I tried pilates a few years ago, fat, and it was very difficult.  Good for you.

It's amazing - I actually have less weakness!  This week, the class was harder, and I feel much less sore.

Weakness leaving the body is a great thing indeed!

Awesome!  I have done a little bit of yoga about 6 months or so ago but it really wasn't comfortable at my present size.  I can't wait to try it again!  I have also seen pictures of yoga done from drapes/sheets hung from the ceiling, kind of a Cirque de Soleil type thing.  I would LOVE to try that a few months out.  I hope I can find a class  that does that.

I lOVE the realignment of the spine that happens in a hot yoga class.. also sweating out TONS of nasty toxins . I feel so much lighter after an hour and a half .... its HEADY !!

I bought a little pilates machine here last October and havent yet taken it out of the box ( a waste of 400 dollars ! ) The REASON  i bought it is the best looking women with the greatest bodies and posture talk about doing pilates regula;y .

It stretches U , aligns U and gives ya great core .....its also really really challenging i hear .

U go Grrl...please keep talking about it so i finally TRY it lol !

Thanks guys for all the support.
I know exercise and eating right will help me be successful and keep me healthy in the long run.
I have abused my body long enough and need to learn some new habits to keep me successful.
The  yoga is gentle and very easy for this beginner. No hot yoga for me, like our beautiful Ava does! Maybe in the future, but not now.
The instructor said something that struck me,
"You can not be anymore perfect than you are in this moment."
I need to live in this moment and love my body right now where I am at.
Peaceful, isnt it?
Namaste
