Good Morning. Introduce yourselves LWs!
I'm single these days and have a great friend in my 36 year old son Zach who lives in NYC. He's working on his second master's degree at the film department at NYU.
I love to walk, so bought a condo back in 2003 that sits on an urban lake with a 3.5 mile path around it. My yard is a big park filled with ducks, geese and other birds. I'm lucky that I can walk to work. I love hiking on trails up in the park district. Walking is so much easier than it was last summer. Summer time is pool time for me and I love cultivating a great tan.
My main passion is travel. In the past few years I've hiked the Great Wall, gone to S. Korea, Japan, Thailand, Cambodia, Italy, Russia last summer and tomorrow morning I leave for 15 days in the South of France. I also love my Kindle and enjoy reading very much.
I had VSG 16 weeks ago. I'm a slow loser but it's coming off. I started in a 22/24 pant and 2 or 3x shirt. I'm now in a 16 pant and L or XL shirt. I couldn't be happier with my surgery.
It's great reading about everyone. What a brilliant idea Gina! :)

My BMI is not high enough to meet my insurance requirements to have DS, so I have opted for RNY. I like and am confident in my surgeon.
Our twin boys are now 16 (ugh)! My husband is very supportive of the WLS. I enjoy gardening and sitting on the deck around our koi pond.
I like OH alot, but I LOVE the LW board. I attend a support group and will always look to you all for support and offer support to others as well. THANKS for being there!!!
On the personal side, I am 55 years old, married for 9 years to my second husband, have 3 children, 2 stepchildren and 3 grandchildren. I am a 5th degree black belt and have been teaching martial arts for 22 years. I love my family and Iove my students and I can't wait to be thin so that I can enjoy them even more than I already do!
I have learned so much from the LW board. I am not a big poster, but I do read often and you all are always so encouraging and so positive that I feel I am in good hands here when my day finally comes!
I had my surgery just over 11 months ago and am almost at my nutritionists goal.
my husband retired from the military after serving his 20 years and is now working for the Va that being the reason for the move .... hopefully at some point we can move back to the west coast.
I had the vsg done as i considered it to be the best option for me. but i have already learned that i have trigger foods and no longer allow those in my home. I have enjoyed coming to the LW board and reading the posts for so long now... It is definately past due to introduce myself

I am suffereing a frustrating plateau right now, but this too will pass!
My name is Sheri and I am from NJ. I work in the pharma industry, with the same company for the past 13 years where my husband of 5 yrs also works and my 3.5 yr old son goes to daycare. We all commute together in the AM and PM which makes for a nice (most days) start and end to the day.
I had Lap RNY almost 4 months ago. and including 13 pre surgery pounds I have lost over 60 lbs. My recent battle is a 6 week stall but I am through it and the scale is moving again! I was a chubby baby and have overweight my whole life for as long as I can remember. I have tried every diet known to mankind it always came off but then came right back plus some more.
Last year i saw the results of a friend having RNY and really wanted to do it but was not sure how my DH would feel about me having elective major surgery. I initially told him I would get the lapband but then slowly warmed him up to RNY as they were my only 2 options. He was not "thrilled" as there was always the "what if" how will I raise our son on my own chat but he caved and became supportive.
I have not regretted this decision at all, now I just need to learn how to handle the compliments which embarrasses the hell out of me especially from co-workers!
I also come here everyday although I do not post a ton. The LW board is an awesome group!
I'm Kay. I'm a retired Lt Col mom too!!!
I've been lurking on the board for about a month. I'm currently in a 3 month behavior modification program and hoping to have RNY in September. I'm taking the plunge because I want to be healthy. My weight is causing co-moridities. I've struggled with my weight in last several years. I can't do the things I used to do and want to do because of my weight.
I've been married to my husband almost 18 years (most of them wonderful, but he is an man and I do get PMS). We have 4 kids (2 each from previous marriages). All kids are grown and on their own. We have 8 grandkids and one due in August! We're a pretty active couple, but in hte past few years, I've done alot of watching from the sideline. I want to get off the sidelines and back in the game.
