Birth Control Pills...
Hey guys,
I've seen my weight loss seriously slow down. Im a little nervous because people at my job have told me their weight loss stopped at about 6 to 8 months but my mother said hers stopped at around 18mos. The only thing that has really changed is my going on birth control pills. Coming off of them seems extremely reckless since my social life has changed drastically! Do birth control pills slow weight loss ugh whats going on?

IUDs are only available for people who have already had a baby and are in a monogamus relationship (unfortunately). I'd ask your doctor about the birth control pills... I have read on this site that some people say that birth control pills aren't as effective after WLS (I don't know if that's a myth or not..) but yeah... maybe you're just having a stall? That's definately a question that I want to ask my surgeon before I have the surgery because I've heard so many different things. Let us know what you find out!
I have an IUD and I have never had a child. There are others on here as well, that are childless and have IUDs. Its deff. up to you, on what you deciede but talk to your doctort/gyno about your options.
If you want to get somewhere you have to know where you want to go and how to get there. Then never, never, never, give up!

I've heard issues about Depo and some BCPs causing you to want to eat more, so that could be an issue, but you're in prime stalling time. I'd say just work through it.
I'm on Apri right now, cheaper than the Nuvaring on my insurance, but I've been on Nuvaring before and loved it. My primary doc (also specializes in bariatrics) and my surgeon both said that absorption shouldn't be an issue with the pill. If you aren't having side effects from the pills, personally, I'd keep a close eye on food intake, exercise, and if you still aren't losing then try a different form of birth control.
