Need help, suggestions

It's been a long time since I have been back to this site. I'm a few years post-op (June 2003) and need some suggestions on how to kick start some weight loss. I really have stayed steady at my current weight, with-in about 10 pounds.

I really would like to drop the 10, and ideas?

Thanks

My usually response is more protein, more water, less carbs and less fat...All of which you've probably heard before. If you don't know how much of those things you're consuming, start fiteday or dailyplate and keep track for a while. Measure and weigh your food for a while and be sure you're 4 ounce portion is actually 4 ounces...

Those are all my suggestions. Good luck. 10 pounds isn't that much...You'll do wonderful.
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

Thanks, I guess its just getting back to the basics. It always sounds better when someone else says it :).

Tracking is a great idea, I totally forgot about that option.

Cheryl,

I've not been as active on the boards as I used to be either. I have found a need to get back to the basics too. I have felt that the effects of my pouch grew less and less as time has passed.

Then I kind of figured it out to try to get back to the basics. I went out and bought several bags of frozen veggies from Sam's Club. I have the mixed veggies, beans, and peas. I have about 1 1/2 cups (cooks down to 1 cup - covered in the microwave for a few minutes) and then I decided to focus on fish and chicken proteins again. I alternated the fish/chicken with the veggie bites and I REALLY got to feeling the old pouch. Those veggies certainly were not acting like the slider foods I had been eating. I actually have had that full feeling again and I'm exercising my pouch once again. As they said when I first had the surgery, "The tool is always there just waiting to be used."

I've dropped about 5 pounds and feeling a bit more in control as we roll into the end of the year holidays.

Thanks, John and congrats on your weight loss. I was thinking the same thing back to chicken and fish. I know I can do it, I just have to use what I know and get moving.

I am 5yrs post op, but the holidays are always a scary time for me with food.
