Do You Count Carbs?

I know we count our protein to make sure we get enough but was just wondering if anyone else counted carbs.  I'm 2 1/2 years out and get my carb sources from whole wheat bread, starchy veggies (corn and beans), brown rice, etc.  But I don't really "count" my carbs.

How many carbs do you try to get per day if you count?  Just curious.  Thanks.

I don't really count them either. I track my food on thedailyplate.com and it figures them out for you, but I don't pay too much attention. I don't seem to be carb sensitive and I stay away from the bad carbs and stick with the good ones~for me that's mostly from fruit/veggies, sometimes multi or whole grains. I don't really like rice, pasta or breads much now~my tummy doesn't handle them well, so I don't eat too  many of those things on a regular basis. Every once in awhile I get on a Wheat Thins kick and that's bad carbs, LOL!!!! Thankfully that hasn't happened in awhile. Also, with my workout schedule, I need some good carbs to burn as fuel! Hope this helps!

Perhaps you have to be a TraciB to be a Wheat Thins fanatic....something to ponder.......Anyway, I don't really count carbs as I watch myself (most days) and since rice, corn and pasta does me wrong, I get most carbs from whole grains and fruit/veg as well as beans and lentils.
Since I adhere to a strict workout schedule I burn what I do eat (most days) or make up for it if I have been wild.
So far it works well for me,

My nut is not as militantly anti-carb as some.  She says balance is best.  I'm currently hitting about 100 net carbs (carbs minus fiber).  I remember reading in legitimate medical nutrition articles that you need at least 100 carbs for adequate brain function long term.

My carbs come from whole grains, fruit, and veggies.  Although I'm not a TracyB, I do indulge a bit in 100 cal packs---especially wheat thins and cheese nips---occasionally.

I don't count the number, but keep track of them as a percentage of my total intake-- and lately it's been 30-33%-- I try to stay close to 30%.

Actually, I don't count anything.  I know what I need to eat and what I shouldn't eat.  I don't always follow my advice though.  I find that if I count, I am focused too much on food.  I don't want that.  I know that I need to be more selective in what I eat, but.....  I am baaaaad lol.  I guess with no real support out here in the boonies, I don't think about these things.  I think that is one thing I don't like about being out here.  It's a little scary.

I do not count carbs.  The PRIMARY thing I count is calories, then protein grams.  Whatever is left could be all carbs (even bad ones) but you usually have fat so the remainder is never all carbs.

Right now, I'm 40% protein, 40% carbs, and 20% fat.
