5dpt carb ? for days 1&2

I will be starting the 5 day pouch test in the morning.  I've read about it on the website and everything, but other than saying low-carb it doesn't mention a number or % for the carbs.

The protein shakes I enjoy use 4 oz of yogurt (7g of carbs), 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder (3g of carbs) and 1 Tbsp of spiced chai tea mix (8g of carbs).  Then I add a bit of water and crushed ice.

Is 18 g of carbs too high for a low-carb protein shake?  I want to do this correctly if I'm going to do it, so any help is great.  I can change if needed...have other options...just really enjoy this one.

Thanks all!

The protein shake recipes on www.5daypouchtest.com have 11 g carbs.  Yogurt is not on the plan.  I'd try doing plain shakes for days 1 & 2.  You can always as some SF syrup to change the taste.  You can post the question on the site though, just click on the Neighborhood link.

The first 2 days are tough, but I firmly believe the 5DPT is a great way to get back on track.

Good luck, Lisa!

Lisa,
Leave the yogurt out . . . or go with one of your other options.

But with that said, try not to get too hung up on being "perfect" during the 5dpt.  There are those who do various modifications of it, and they do just fine and are happy with the results (regained control, bad carbs "cleaned out").   You might notice that even on the website, it suggests that if you are truly almost feeling sick from withdrawal, have a small orange (or something else--can't remember).  So it's not like having something not strictly on the program will totally ruin it.

I hope you have good success!  The 1st 2 days are tough; I was never so happy to add tuna to my diet as I was on day 3!!

Always,
Jo
