I havent lost weight in 20 days. I had my GBS on August 11th. In 2 weeks from surgery I lost 37pds,and none since. I try my best getting in my fluid but still not able to reach 70 ounces. My protein intake is not good, maybe 40 grams a day. My exercise is not much, anywhere from 1/2 mile a day to none since we had hurricane Ike. I work shift work 12 hr shifts, most of the time afterwards is taken up by kids or Im just tired . I called my Docs assistant yesterday and he said stay off the scale and be patient and just continue to do what Ive been doing. Do yall have any suggestions or should I just be patient and quit worrying. October third will be my 2 month check up and Im at 262 and my Doc said I would be down to atleast 249 by then. I also got dehydrated after the 2 weeks and the doc had me start drinking gatorade, seems to me this would not help my situation because of the sugar. Since my protien isnt good,I eat smoked almonds and have no problem with those. Let me know what your thought is on my situation.

You're right on time for a stall. It happens. Most of us here on this board are more than a year out so we've all been there but our issues are more like: three years out and gaining or....

Stalls happen. Stay the course and you'll start losing again. Guaranteed.

Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

I am now 17 months out of surgery and I did exactly the same thing as you.. I really used nuts to try to get in my protein.. When I stalled my Doctor reviewed my food diary and said to lose the nuts (i was eating all kinds of them) he said they are fat and alot of fat will cause stalls or even weight gain.. so lose the nuts and eat lean meat for your protein and make sure you get your 60 to 80 grams of lean protein EVERY day.. that is what my doctor stresses to his patients protein first and lots of it !!! I really had alot of trouble just a couple of months out with the protein not staying in.. eat deli meat. keep it with you at all times and nibble on it until you get all your grams in.. if you eat nothing else eat the protein.. but really let me tell you it really does get to feeling like you never had surgery when you get about 5 months out.. that tightness that is so strange to you now really does go away but you will miss it (I know strange) that is why on the grads board people are doing the 5 day pouch test so they can feel their pouch again.. But patience is something you need to have also.. some weeks you will lose nothing and others 2 to 5 pounds.. trust me when you reach a year you are gonna be so amazed with yourself .... shopping is a blast !!! your gonna love the new you !!!! good luck

You dont have to drink the regular gatoraid - they have the G2 which is lower in sugar - you can also make your own gatoraid using crystal lite (or other SF drink mix) and adding no-salt salt to it (adds potassium)... I would think if you havent experienced any dehydration again you should be ok just drinking the SF liquids and bypassing the gatorade all together.
Anyways I say not to worry - jsut be patient. With the nuts make sure you are watching your fat - while they are a good fat a post-WLS serving is a PALMFULL a day, no more! That comes out to make 12-14 almonds... while they do have protein there are better sources out there so make sure you keep trying new things and not just sticking to the same old foods.
