Tummy Tuck and weight fluxuation?

Hey everyone.  Had my TT almost three weeks ago.  Have noticed my weight has gone up three pounds.  Dropped to 118, now 121.  Dr.'s nurse says it is very normal because of fluid retention, swelling, and it might take a few weeks to actually get to a stable weight.  Just wondering if anyone else experienced this?  Also, my monthly is due very soon and I always gain weight then too (lucky me).     Also, for those with TT, how long did it take before you could drive, lift, bend?  Any advise?  Thanks

Only 3 pounds up, that's not bad. After my TT surgery I was up about 8 pounds. At about 6 weeks out my weight was down the excess 8 ( from fluid and swelling) and another 4.5 lbs from the excess skin removed. So don't be too worried, as long as you are not eating excessively.

I was able to drive at about 2 weeks postop, I could bend at that time, though it didn't feel so good.  Lifting  anything over 5-10 lbs should probably be put off for about a total of 4-6 weeks, but check with your ps for sure.

I have a pretty high tolerance for pain and I have to say that the hernia/TT surgery (1/25/08) had to be the worst surgery I ever had.  I have never taken pain pills longer than 2-3 days and 2 weeks out I was still taking them as the drains were really bothering me.  I got the flu the 2nd week (those germ monsters I call my children must have brought it home) and I think that extended my recovery time.  I was to be off work for 3 weeks and had to take an extra week.  I too had the weight gain about 3-5 lbs and it took about 6-8 weeks for it to go back down.  But you know what I HAVE FLAT ABS!!!!!  LOL As they say no pain no gain.  I was not allowed to workout for about 6 weeks and after that just had to take it slow and do what did not cause pain.  I felt it was a slower recovery than any other surgery I have ever had but I think the hernia repair was part of it also as I could feel the mesh pushing in my muscle when I would sit too long and try to stand up to fast.  But 9 months later Life is good!!!  Hope this helps.  Email me if you have any other questions.
