UGH!!

Hello,

Did not know what else to title my message.

I have been having a pretty bad buring sensation in my mouth throat and gums and some heart burn...had a scope done today and come to find out that one...my fault I have a vitamin deficiency since I moved from one state to another I really got off track with my vitamins Dr. said I need vit b1 and b2.

But the worst news is that my pouch has three holes where the staple line was and those are dumping into my old stomach....I had never heard of this happening.  The dr who did the scope was a GI dr. and said that it can cause weight gain, which I have been gaining...I do not know what do to next...

Has anyone else had this happen?

Melissa, get those Bvits up, you don't want to deal with permanent damages.  What you are describing is a mechanical failure (Staple Line Disruption).  And, yes weight regain can happen.  Would a revision be something you'd consider?

I will get the B vits up...what kinda perm damage are you talking about? 

The issue with the revision is that my issurance does not cover any type of weight related procedure and I had to pay cash for my original one and am still paying off that debt....I wonder what a revision would cost???

Melissa, if the B vit deficiency isn't taken care of you can experience permanent damage to the heart and nervous system.

I don't know what a revision would cost, hopefully someone can give you additional guideance.  With a strict eating plan, you may be able to control the weight gain but it will take more work due to being able to eat larger portions.

Send Vitalady a PM or email she can elaborate and offer more insight then I can since she deals with post-ops on a daily basis.

Hello again Melissa! I'm sorry to hear you're having a tough time. Get those b vits so you'll feel better!!! The 3 holes in the staple line is scary. I don't know anything about it, but Dana had great advice! Good Luck and keep us posted.

I am really sorry to hear about the problems you are having with your staple line. That alone & being self pay is very scary.

I don't have anything but support to offer you.. Work on getting those vit levels up and maybe you can find a good doc in your new city that can help you out..
