Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to let everyone know how greatful I am, because last night at my second job, I work as a waitress.  I met a lady who is now going to work at my job with me, and low, and be hold I find out she had RNY 5 years ago.  She told me that she had to have 14 other surgeries since her Initial surgery and still has complications, she almost died several times.  I am so greatful that this did not happen to me.  I just want everyone to be greatful today for what blessings God has given them, because tommorrow is not promised to any of us.

I'm also grateful every day for good health and the second chance I've been given. Sometimes it takes seeing another person's misfortune to remind us just how lucky we really are.

So very true!  How easy it is to take our success w/ this surgery (& our health in general) for granted.  I remember so clearly all my fears before having the surgery and how I prayed unceasingly that I would survive the surgery and be spared bad complications.  I had absolutely NO problems, a textbook recovery, and good, consistent weight loss.   I continue to praise God for all of it, but I need reminders sometimes!!

I hope you enjoy working w/ this new co-worker, and although there's nothing "good" about her misfortune, it will at least be a reminder to you of how blessed you are!

Always,
Jo

Hi Melissa,

What a great post and lesson to take away from talking with her.  It is a wonderful reminder to all of us.

I'm grateful every day for my surgery and the life I have today because of it.
