Hi everyone...can I switch to your room?
Hi everyone. I am a year out now, down 150 lbs. I have been fluctuating between 128-132 for about a week now. Having TT in 4 days. How can your weight go up one day 3 pounds then down again the next day? Is it something I am doing, or just poop, or what? Need more water, or protein? I know one of you lovely people knows. I would like to start coming in this forum because I am over a year now. Any input would be appreciated. Flo is coming next week as well, so could that account for weight up and down? Thanks in advance for answers
Hi Kathleen,
Welcome to the Grad's board!!! I asked the same question a month ago, when I was a year out, and of course I welcomed here with opened arms. I have lost the same amount of weight in a year as you. As far as the weight going up and down, I would definitely say it has to do with our monthly cycle. As long as you are maintaining there you should be okay. Everyone's body is different. I am still losing but very slowly now. About a week before my PM I don't lose I may even gain a pound or two, then when it is all over with about 2 weeks later I will drop a couple of pounds again. I was told that I will continue to lose up until am about 18 months to two years out. Then that's when you will have to continue to work hard on maintaining the weight. I don't stress myself out about it right now, because I have learned over a year now how to eat healthy and take care of myself, so I will continue for the rest of my life, am done with the old me!!!!!

Thanks so much for the response! It is good to know that I am normal. It is scary even to gain a pound back. I do not ever want to go back to the old me. Congrats on your success! I too, am starting to either stay the same, or drop just a few pounds. I think I am about done. I started at 282, and I am 5'1". My surgeon told me my body will naturally slow down when it is at a good weight. I think that is happening with me. I got as low as 125, but I did look pretty gaunt. I think 130 is about right for me. I am having TT Aug. 26 so that will be another 10 lbs. or so. I know I will swell alot too, though after that. Thanks again for your reply. I look forward to chatting with you more! Have a great day!!
Hi Kathleen,
I am 5'1" also that is so Ironic. I was about 20 lbs heavier than you when I started. So I am exactly 20lbs behind you. I believe that I am tapering off as well when it comes to losing the weight too, I am thinking I will be where you are at by the time I am 18 months out. I actually am happy where I am now, I don't want to look like am on drugs or something. Anyway, Good-Luck with the TT. I will be praying for you.
Just wanted to welcome you and say hello! Congratulations on losing 150lbs!!! As far as the mysterious weight flux, I think most of us experience it (and most "normal" people do too, although they might not weight daily so they don't even realize it). I've found its a combination of things~time of the month, water retention, constipation, etc. I know the week before my time of the month I'm always up a few pounds and then the week after I'm always my thinnest for the month (I like that week best, LOL!!!) You'll know if its ever a true weight gain b/c you'll know you probably weren't eating properly and caused yourself a gain. Good Luck with your TT!!!!

Welcome and great job! I'm 4.5+ years and I still have a 2-3 pound weight flux at any given time. I still don't quite "get it"....The other day, I weighed before my shower totally naked...Got out of the shower, dried my hair and weighed again for he heck of it...I was a pound heavier...Make ZERO sense to me. I weighed the same after lunch too and you'd think I would have gained after lunch...So I just don't weigh all day like that. Once a week or I drive myself crazy! LOL
I always seem to balance out and weigh about 165 lbs now for 4 years....So that little flux never amounts to anything....Well, I have gained more than that...That's when you know it'smore than a little flux...it's the kind you gotta get busy and run off!
