wed accountability- what did you eat today?
Ok. I want to try posting to this thread again, and see if I last longer then one day! hahaha. My protein is a little low but it's still within my Surgeons guidlines of 60 grams of protein 3 meals a day no snacking... (in fact if my surgeon saw this food report I think he'd be tickled pink!) My meals will be kind of the same each day for a while, I'm trying to simplify, make a lot of stuff up in advance and just stay on track even if it means a lot of repeating for a while, I'll get more creative once I get some stability in my meals under my belt. but at least here I can report and write each day that I stayed to my plan.
Breakfast: 2 oz string cheese 1 cup appelsauce.
Lunch: Two oz chicken, 1 oz shredded cheddar cheese, 1 cup tomatoes mixed with some onion, I TBS wheat germ, 1 TBS olive oil, 1 TBS balsalmic vinegar. (this was so yummy for me!)
Dinner: 2 oz cottage cheese, 1 oz shredded cheddar cheese, 1 cups lettuce/tomato/onion (salad), 1 TBS wheat germ, 3 TBS blue cheese dressing.
Calories 1062
Protein 62
Can I just tell you how amazing it's felt the last 3 days to have 3 meals and no grazing in between! and NO night time eating. I'm gonna pick the workouts back up today as I let them slack again for a while. I'm going to a 12 step program and this is my "abstinent" food plan. I haven't felt this good in a long time, so light and healthy and not sick from eating junk!....
So plan on hearing from me more again... I got over my frustration of not losing, tried a LOT of things before I found this plan that is really working for me...for some reason all the sudden I'm able to do this...I don't know what's happened for me, but it's almost easy for me (so far, I know the challenging times are still yet to come). I'm so determined to be "abstinent" that I haven't been fighting myself over food.
Ok.. off to the gym for my 6:00 a.m workout!

I knew you were going to say that! I specifically knew you were going to say that! hahaha. Yes I agree, at this 12 step program they have a specific plan which pretty much fits exactly what my surgeon wants, however I agree the protein is a little low (or maybe it's ok cause it's what everyone else is doing...but we don't absorb it as well or something?). So I will see how I do with it, and I'll talk to my surgeon about it eventually, or if my protein comes back on labs (hmm do they check for that on lab work? I haven't done labs since my one year mark.. so yes something else I really need to do!) but if the surgeon specificaly says I need to raise my protein or lab work or something is specific about it then I'll bring that up to my sponsor and see if I can alter my "absitnence" plan for medical reasons..etc. And if they are SOOOO freakin strict that it's a "nope, do what we say" then I'll of course have to look elsewhere for a different program. :)
So yes, I do have concerns about my protein that I will try to work with for at least a while I'm going to just do what they say and see if I can get some things under control and shed some of this weight. I mean, it's still within what my surgeon wants as far as protein... they told us 60...and this is barely over 60...so of course 60 is a minimum.

funny that you knew" I'd say that!!" Guess I talk alot about protein huh?
yes, explain that we have a mal absorptive surgery. We just cant eat enough and absorb it, we need a protein supplement in a digestable and absorbable form that will get into our system. Any, just dont' take my word for it, check it out for yourself!!

I didn't see this last night so I'm late but I'll share anyway! Not the best eating day for me. Not enough calories or protein and too many carbs.
I try to eat at least 1000 to 1200 calories everyday.
Breakfast:

Small Apple
Lunch:
Protein shake
SF Pudding... on the way to work
Snack:
Cheese Stick
Raw broccoli w/ 1 Tbsp. of FF ranch
Dinner:
Smart One's Frozen dinner
1/2 C. Steamed cabbage
Snack:
Snickers low carb marathon bar
SF Jello
Oh and 2 saltine crackers somewhere in there. At work bored and grabbed them.

Wednesday was busy and fraught with tension - inservice meetings had me sitting on my butt almost all day. They bought us lunch, catered by Chick Fil A, which was nice, but I went away hungry. Now, if *I* went away hungry, having a banana-sized stomach, I can't imagine some of the other people I work with being in any way satisfied. It was a lovely gesture, though.
B - lg. iced coffee with cream & sugar, bacon/egg/cheese from Dunkin Donuts
L - 3 chicken tenders, 2 strawberries, 1 brownie
D - Pot roast (a lot, because I was starving!!!), about 2 T each of mashed potatoes & green bean casserole; 1/2 mint chocolate chip ice-cream sandwich (my daughter & I split it)
S - 2 Trader Joe's 100 calorie chocolate bars
S - 2-3 handfuls Diamond Cocoa Almonds
This sounds strange, but I haven't had enough fat in the last 3 days, and it's backing me up. I'm getting grumpy & irritable
