Extra Skin???

Hi Everyone,

I was just wondering, if you have extra skin, does the scale say you weigh more than you actually do?  I admit in clothes you can't see the extra skin I have on my legs, and up under my upper arms,  I never had a stomach so I have no extra skin there, my weight gain was always in my behind and legs.  The way that I am built when I look in the mirror, I have to weigh at least 10 lbs lighter than what the scale says, is it the extra skin that I have?

I haven't had PS and wonder the same thing. I average around 130 pounds and I wonder if I'd weigh more like 120 if I had some of this @#&%^ skin removed. (Most people guess my weight around 110.)  I've heard some people say they lose 20 pounds or so (usually those that have a lot around the middle), but most of the time it's just a few pounds, and they don't see that for quite some time because of the swelling. I think about PS every day, but then I think of the pain and the time I'd be out of commission (and mostly the $$$). I just don't think it's an option for me.

Hi Wanda,

I agree with you, I don't want to go through PS either, no one can tell I have the extra skin with my clothes on because of the way am built.  I have an hour glass shape.  I didn't lose weight to be miss perfect just so I can be healthy.

The scale says exactly what you weight - excess skin and all. If you had the excess skin removed you would weigh less since you are removing something from your body. However if you remove 10lbs of skin the scale will not show a loss of 10lbs, typically it will show less... dont ask me why but thats what the PS explained to me.

I recently had a TT and BL and 4.5lbs were removed and after about 3 weeks I saw the loss on my scale.

So, I would say it depends on the amount of skin and underlying tissue that was removed.

Those who have TT and it is mostly skin have around 5 pounds removed. I had skin and fat on my belly. The PS removed 11 pounds. I saw it breifly on the scale, but not for long.

Skin weighs very little, if it is just empty hanging skin. I had a TT and they removed 8 oz of empty skin....no fat, just skin...now if they were to do my legs, it would be pounds, as i see the cottage cheese like fat that remains under the hanging wrinkly skin. I look at my skin as badges of honor. At first they were war scars, but now they are badges of honor, if i gain weight like these 20 lbs i am battling, I see it . My skin starts to fill up again. I LOVE MY WRINKLY SKIN( well okay thats not completely true, but i try too. )
Peace and Blessings, Melinda
