I have to make sure that I eat the right combination of carbs and protien to not gain or lose. I have moved and feel very alone in my battle. It is an everyday battle with myself and I had to come to the realization that I will always be an overweight woman inside. I have an addiction that can never be cured because unlike an alcoholic or drug addict, food is something that is needed to survive. I just never want to become the person that I was before my WLS.....I am a much happier person in a thinner body!

Hi All, I am a new "Grad" and happy to be one! - Mary Mc - Lap RNY, March 14, 2006, 1 year out. - Highest weight 278, same as surgery day - Current weight 175, goal 135-140 - My biggest struggle has been to believe that I really am losing weight. My body is smaller my clothes are smaller but my mind is still big. I think the people on this board really understand this thinking. It really takes me some time to move to a smaller size I wait until my clothes are falling off. I still think of myself as an overweight person. I am working on it everyday.  - I feel great!!!! I haven't had one regret with having this surgery. I would do it again if I had to. I am glad that I don't. Thanks to all the grads that have gone before me for all the good advice and sharing of experiences. This has been invaluable to me. Mary
