1.  First name or name you go by on the boards - on the Boards I am **willow**  real name Valerie 2.  Surgery type - RNY 3.  Surgery date - 9/25/2002 4.  How far post-op - 4 1/2 years 5.  Highest weight-  272 6.  Day of sugery weight - 266 7.  Goal weight - where ever my body decided was it own comfortable weight.  Real goal - to improve my health 8.  Current weight -   today 142 - normally 135-140 9.  Low weight post-op if different than current weight - well, I had a bowel obstruction at the time, was very ill, not able to eat and on IV's  - 120#  dont know if that counts. I looked like death.  Fortunately it only lasted about a week.  My best weight is around 135-140 10.  Biggest struggle as a post-op - maintanence is far harder than loosing,  body dysmorphia is a  frequent struggle (slowly getting better)  I dont know if this fits but I'll try to express myself. My BIGGEST  struggle is that my DH is still out of shape, in constant pain and really needs to lose some weight to feel better. I can't fix that. I feel pretty helpless to help him. he never critisized my weight and I wont critisize his,  I love him too much for that, but I want him to feel better so we can enjoy life together. I feel great and have a lot of energy  i need to get out.  I want us to have all the fun I know we could.  I want him to feel as good as I do and see him enjoy life more.

10+ years post op and still maintaining!!! surgery  9/25/2002 260/134

Just wondering.....I had surgery on Jan.20,2003.....Have lost 146lbs to date and now I am having problems with my blood work.   Very low Iron count a 3!!!!  Should be between 220-235!!!  My folic level is awful and all sorts of others.  Is this because of the surgery?  Anyone else out there with this problem?  Thank you so much!!!

Guess I should have read a little before I posted.   NOW I see all of the posts on the blood work.  So I'm not the only one with this problem.  Good to know so I can explain this to my doctor.   Thanks for all of the great info on this in your posts.  Atleast I have an idea now.   Take Care All
