Sex question for the ladies

This is kind of embarrassing, but so are a lot of things. :)

About a month ago I had my Well Woman Check/Pap.  I spotted for several days after that and have also had light spotting every time my husband and I have had sex since then.  At first I thought it was just from the Pap, but it's now been about 4 weeks.  This never happened to me before.  I can also feel (and jeez, this is TMI) um, friction/hitting my cervix when we have sex.

So can weight loss change the position of your uterus/cervix or am I just crazy?  Or has my husband somehow had let's say a growth spurt?  I can't say growth spurt in this context, that's just too much.

I was going to PM you but it seems I can't do that. Yes, things can feel a bit different after losing some weight, at least it did for me. It felt like my husband "bottomed out" for a while. Different positions help with that and just letting him know will help him be more careful for a while. We don't have that problem very often any more.

I had this same conversation with my GYN a year ago. I had gained alot of weight at once due to abdominal steroid injections and it became severely painful  to have sex. As i have lost weight we can tell my uterus has shifted. My dr said as women gain weight it causes it to tilt down and losing weight can cause it to try to tilt back up causing pain in the process. I know im not repeating her properly sorry!

It's also possible that there is less obstruction holding him back further, now, than there was.

Spotting after sex may be an indication of polyps -- go in and get a check up with your gyno--  an ultrasound may reveal the "culprit".  take care, Bonnie

Def worth a re-visit to your peeps.  If abnormal pap (dysplasia/ectropion) Im sure you woulda been notified pronto if sumthin amiss

are you post meno? sex can be painful and ^^vaginal dryness = fissures/tears from friction = spotting ...may need a periodic lo dose estrogen cream to help in that dept.

Not peri-or post meno? .. pain & vaginal bleeding durin/ following procedures/ sex  can be from lotsa things i.e. drynes, vaginitis, STDs like chlamydia. HPV and believe it or not UTIs ....testing is separate..usually not included with pap unless you ask for it.

Get this checked out tho carrie for your own peace of mind. It is NOT NORMAL.

Thanks all.  Sorry for posting and running, I was literally on the way out to my kids' soccer game after I posted.  I got in the car and thought "WHY DID I POST THAT????" so I appreciate the replies.

Yep, all the labs came back normal, so that's good...but something is up because it hasn't gone away.  I have an appointment with my GP (I don't see a separate gyn) but I just checked and it's not until April 30.  I'll try to get in sooner.
