Sero quel? No frakin way, yes Doc wants me to gain a few lbs but I aint going there!!

Allergic to phenergan it gives me a "didstal" reaction...I was like Reagan in the exorcist!!

I've tried Trazidone and it didn't work for me!

Looks like for now either the generic sleep-aid or the sledgehammer!!

Tks for all the help,
Meggie

I have ended up in the emergency room 2 times with Ambien. Both times I took the entire bottle, IN MY SLEEP, and DROVE to the hospital IN MY SLEEP!!! It started out fine. Great in fact. I slept like a baby. Then I started doing random things in my sleep like using my computer. I have no idea what I did but I would wake up with it on my bed. Then it was sleep eating. And I mean EATING. Once the evidence left the next morning was 2 margarita glasses with a brown foam residue. Ingredients?: strawberry jelly, V8 Splash, iced cafe mocha powder mix, and possibly some vodka. Still unclear. I live alone mind you. Then there was the burner that was on HIGH all night until I found it the following morning. I finally came to my senses about it all when I went to the ER for the second time.
Lunesta did nothing
Trazadone did nothing.
Seroquel did nothing AND if you read about it, is not worth it unless you are also bi-polar
Solution??? Good sleep hygene. Meditation. Yoga. I'm trying the eau-naturel methods now. I know. It is hard when you go night after night after night after night with no sleep and just want a pill to give you peace.  But for me the risks were not worth it.
Most important, have you done a sleep study? If not, THAT is where to start. It is a MUST. They are fascinating. And the doctors will be able to help you much better with a clear understanding of when and why you are having sleep problems. Good luck and if you have any questions about anything I wrote, feel free to ask.

Honey, I had a sleep study several years ago--I had very mid sleep apnea when I did sleep. My brain just never shuts up! that is why I ended up on ambien. i was fine in the begining ( the first 4 yrs) then the lasivious behavior started!! I became out of hand at night and Ken decided it need to stop because I really wasn't getting any sleep and neither was he. Then the sleep eating started. I stopped taking it for about 6 months, used melatonon instead the that stopped working! So i tried the Ambien again. I was ok in the begining but soon got out of hand again. We will see how the Sleep Aid works!!

My doctor prescribed Xanax, an anti-anxiety medication, to help me sleep.  I keep it on-hand and don't take it regularly.  I usually need it when I'm under a lot of stress and only take part of a pill when I take it.  It works well for me and I haven't had any side-effects from it.  Good luck finding something that works for you.  Sleep deprivation is the worst!!
