A little get to know you post!

I thought it would be fun to do a little get to know you thing on here since i'm new and I see there are even some newer people....

I guess I will start:

My name is Kirsten and I'm 26. I'm divorced and have two of the cutest baby girls you will ever see (and no I'm not bias check out their picture in my pictures.

I moved to TN over a year ago for work and I love my job. I have wanted weightloss surgery for a while now, but my ex never would agree to it. I have actually lost two pant sizes though since working on my pre-surgery diet, so I'm pretty proud of that. I plan on using Dr. Williams at Vandy in Jan if all goes well.

I really can't think of anything else, but hope everyone takes a minute to introduce themselves too!

Hi Kirsten.
I am Marilyn and I am almost twice your age!  Actually, I have an adult daughter who is 27.  I am a RN and live on the side of a mountain in east Tennessee. I have been married to the same man for 33 years! I am so glad that you have chosen to have this surgery at a young age. I certainly wish I had not waited so long!

My name is Kristy and I'm 37.  I have been married for 12 years in October and have one son who is 9 and the joy and light of my life.  I also have two dogs that are family to us.  I am lucky that my husband is very supportive and loves me no matter what.  He married me about 50 pounds lighter than this so he has never seen me skinny. 

I am just getting started on this journey and will attend my seminar on Tuesday hoping to use Dr. Boyce or Dr. Williams out of Knoxville for the lap-band.  I am ready to make changes.  I have just been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia so I am hoping to help get weight off to alleviate some pain and prevent any other issues from coming up.

Probably more than you wanted to know, but I have found such great support on this site in such a short amount of time.  It is truly amazing!

Kristen & Kristy,  Welcome aboard! I'm Bob live in Clarksville with wife Debbie. Had RNY at Vanderbilt on April Fools Day 08' and I'm 3 lbs from goal weight of 170. Best of luck to you both, I believe success is getting your head straight before surgery, get involved with a support group (mine is right here), do exactly what your WLS team instructs you to do and get active with some kind of exercise. Also journel everything like you were a 13 year old girl with a diary. It's the only way to know how your really doing or if you have a problem you can look back and see if there is a pattern. Now that you both have jump on in keep posting, we can learn from you as well. everyone brings something to the table.   Hello and Welcome to the Tn board !!! I am also a divorved mother of two girls. Your little ones are so adorable. I wish you all the best on  your journey. I am a Vandy patient as well. I am over 2 years post op and have had no issues after my bypass. Again Welcome and I look forward to seeing more post from you.
