Questions, I have Questions????

Since I received my surgery date yesterday I have had diarhea and been nauseated.  I know I've made the right choice, but my mind keeps racing.  A part of me is saying, "Have you lost your mind!  You are willing going to have major surgery that will change the insides of your body.  Don't you remember you're the one that would offer up her first born not to throw up and be nauseated?"  Once I've had my surgery can I take Dramamine to help with the nausea?

At the meeting on Tuesday night you'll know who I am because I'll be the one asking all the questions and looking a little green around the gills.

Congrats on your surgery date! I don't know about Dramamine but it sounds like it is your nerves? The best advice I can give for that is talk to your surgeon. Wishing you well!

Hi, I think you are having a bad case of "scared"!  I had it too.  I worried about everything in the world, about every conceivable complication, about everything!  Your surgeon will make sure you have plenty of meds for nausea.  My gave me liquid Phenergan and the Zofran ODT that dissolves under your tongue.  For 2 or 3 weeks after the surgery, I thought I had made the biggest mistake of my life.  Now, I think it is the smartest, greatest, best, most satisfying thing I could ever do. Thanks so much!  When I get on line and read what you guys have to say it calms me.  Then I get back into my "stinkin thinking" and get crazy all over again.  I had to take a Dramamine in order to get to church this morninig (Now that's crazy).  I know I doing the right thing, I'm just scared.  This made be a good thing because I'm sure not able to eat much.  I will start my liquid diet around 5:00pm tomorrow in order to have the test run at Baptist on Tuesday at 9:00am.  I'm really looking forward to the Support Group meeting Tuesday night.  I think that will help me more then anything else to date. Thanks again to all of you.
