I have four wonderful children that I know my eating habits have effected. Im just wondering during the months after RNY did any of your children go through changes as well? How did it effect them? What should I be prepared for? Thanks--

I have four children as well. I have changed the way I eat and cook. I don't cook seperate meals for my family. I have started cooking low fat, low carb, high protein. They have not had a problem with it. My daughter who was alittle overweight has also lost alittle along with me. I also started doing sugar free deserts, more fresh fruits and veggies as well.

My daughter is an adult and doesn't live with me, but visits often.  She watched my weight all her life and was determined not to be obese.  She is a little bit overweight, like 15 pounds.  But, she laughed the other night when I was telling her I made a dessert and oh, it was sugar free.  She said "Mom, you can leave off the sugar free caveat, I just assume if you made it, its sugar free".  That's a huge change from my past! I have one daughter and she has a mind of her own.  She has gone through a vegetarian stage and now is eating more protein.  She still eats sugar but prefers when mama has the "safe" treats in the fridge.

My surgery has really helped my family get healthier.

I have teenagers and they want their junk. They want the fast food still because I'm not much of a cook and cooking food nauseates me right now. It has affected my hubby and he has lost weight.

I have been trying to cut back on the food in the house. I have been giving all of us portion sizes and no junk food. This is so difficult with out the "pouch" or some other type of aid. I know my kids are constantly asking for their "junk food".  I m doing good slipping everyone sugar free popsicles. But that’s about it. I wonder if my ears will become desensitized later ... ....
