Sorry I have been MIA but my life took a downhill turn last year and I am just now really recovering, my question is...does medicare with tenncare secondary cover WLS? If any one out there has these insurances and has had the surgery would you please send me the info..... I would really appreciate it. God bless you all, Tina

Medicare does cover it but at a center of excellence.

Tina, I have MEdicare w/Tncare and had lapband surgery 6/06. They are one of the easiest insurance co. to cover WLS. I think they are being proactive in cutting costs for weight related ailments down the line. Mine was done at Vanderbilt,with Dr. Melvin III, and I've only been billed for the nutritionist $25, so far. This is one area in life where being poor and disabled has been a blessing.
