TennCare Issues!!! What's this about Weigh****chers Requirement?!

I am just beginning my wl journey and was in the process of getting everything BlueCare needed for pre-approval when I talked to a local surgeon's ofc. They said that now I have to go on the ww plan for 3 months then keep 10% of my goal wl off for 6 more!! I have gone through all of this before with other doctor-guided wl plans!! I am just so frustrated because I have been there, done that and am at a point in my life... lots of co-morbidities, depressed, and physically disabled...that something has to give. My BMI is 44.6. Does anyone know of any loop-holes that may help me out. I start ww tomorrow night. I AM willing to do whatever it takes, I just worry about how much more of my life I will be spending in this shape I am in!

I've no answers, just Huggs. TennCare can be a bummer. Make sure whoever tells you what the requirements are puts it in writing and mails it to you so you have a hard record. I've found this is helpful if they "change" they're policies in the same year. Beth B. in Chattanooga

I agree with Beth. Definitely get Tncare's policy in writing... you may be able to have your doctor who supervised you prior to write a letter, stating you have met all those requirements... I would definitely get on the horn to Tncare and ask a LOT of questions... ask for their help and beg for MERCY.

Hello, Call and ask Blue Care for a case manager. I have a special needs daughter, and have gotten around alot of the **red tape** issues by having a case manager for her. The case manager is able to deal with and get around many issues , they we can not. It' worth a shot. *hugs* and God Bless alicem
