Insurance denied me!!

Thanks for the blessing! I haven't had surgery yet. I'm still in the 6 month physician supervised weight loss. I also haven't had insurance approval. I hope that everybody who's having these insurance problems is strong enough and smart enough to get them to do what we want. It's a challenge, that's for sure. I was gobsmacked by the insurance company that required a 6 month physician supervised weight loss and then denied the claim because it wasn't 26 weeks??? Show me the difference between 6 months and 6 weeks!! That's my insurance company, too. love Dennie

Forgive me Dennie, did you mean that NTCA is your insurance company too? Or that mine required what yours did?!? I meant what I said earlier, I am not giving up - I have a renewed determination that I will see this through, and I will get them what they want! I am writing my appeal letter this week. I have to check with my PCP to see if all of the doctors have gotten her the info she had requested from them... sleep apnea, acid reflux, chiropractor, etc.. they can verify that I have those "comorbidites" that they talk about all the time!! What hospital are you considering? I am going to Baptist. I have had other surgeries there, and know that they are good to you.. I am giving myself the month of Feb. to get this all sewed up, and a surgery date! I have claimed it! I will pray for you that things work out for you! Take care and have a blessed day! Sonya

No, sorry for the confusion. I was replying to "I was turned twice by CIGNA. first because I didnt have the 6 months of dr supervised weight loss. then they turned me down because it wasn't 26 weeks of dr supervised weight loss. WHAT???" I have Cigna, too I had considered going to Baptist; there is a surgeon there that does the surgery I want to have. But all my physician friends told me I should go with the surgeon with the most experience, so I'm going to Atlanta. I HOPE. I don't want to have to self-pay. So we'll see what the insurance says.
