Doreen: Don't worry. I had my RNY last MOnday (1.15.07), and here's a partial list of what I've done this week: 1. Cleaned out car and had it detailed yesterday. 2. Caught up on old e-mail. 3. Went to lunch (drank my Carnation Low-Carb Instant Breakfast) with some friends at Copper Cellar on Cumberland on Friday. 4. Stomped retail for 4 hours after lunch on Friday afternoon. 5. Supervised a new CPA review instructor and took student questions on my feet for about 1/2 hour on Saturday. 6. Went to Church and Sunday School today, and have used my convalescence as an excuse to watch football all afternoon. I have no drains, and have 18 staples in my six laporoscope ports, and since Friday have felt great (my surgery was at Vanderbilt, even though I live in Farragut -but I hear Boyce does good work). One of my six ports has pulled a little, and is going to be a scar about the size of a dime, but otherwise, I'm doing great - and it's less than one week out. I will say that the walking was invaluable, and you need to walk enough to.... um... keep yourself "blowing and going", as it were. I under-walked until Thursday, and felt like Hell. Also, I've found Gas-X to be a more frequent need than I expected, and would advise you to listen to your body in this regard. My advice on pureed foods is to get a wand mixer (got mine at the kitchen tool store by Earth Fare in Turkey Creek, by parkwest). I have a battery-powered one as well as a plug-in Bosch mixer. I love them, and have pureed some soups over the last week to give me some variety. I have basically no pain, except a little burning when I twist to get up off of the bed or when I stand up quickly. My last pain medication was on Thursday night, and I'm looking forward to my post-op visit on Wednesday. Good luck tomorrow, and do what Boyce tells you to do. You'll be fine. Brian
