Hi Amanda I'm Franny!! I am just going into my 3rd week of post-op and it has been pretty smooth until I over filled my pouch the first day of blended foods but I thought I was suppose to get in as much protien at first as i did taking the shakes! I was wrong !!! Keep in mind that your pouch is only the size of an hard boiled egg and thats how much you put on your plate !!! The first 2 weeks of liquids just make sure you get your 64 oz of fluids, your protien, & vitiams in thats a job within its self!!!! But it will all get easier each day !!! I had the gastric & Dr. Dyer done laser on me and I recovered quickly . My mom was also my support and still is. It's very important that you have someone to support you and to stay with you after surgery for at least a week. Congrats Franny P.S. when is your surgery date?

Hello Franny....Thanks for the support. My date is scheduled for Feb 26th, IF the psych I saw changes his mind and approves me for the Gastric Bypass (he only approved me for LapBand, and now I've changed my mind). My parents and husband are my support team, and while my husband is at work the first 3-4 weeks, one of my parents will be w/ me until he gets home. I am very fortunate to have 3 people who love me so much and work so hard for my recovery!! Dr. Dyer is planning on doing my surgery Laporascopically. I had my gallbladder out in Nov 05, and he said that was great! I guess the only problem would be is if I have too much scar tissue from that surgery, and he has to change from lap to open...worried a bit about that!! Congratulations on 3 weeks!! I know that every baby step taken is another one towards freedom!! Hugs and support, Amanda

Dearest Amanda, I will be praying for you ! Dr. D. is very good at what he does as well as the other 2 docs. I had alot , alot of scar tissue from my hysterectomy because I have keloids and they opened me long ways instead of bikini cut. Dr. D. was able to do mine that way (laproscopy) and he got out alot of the scar tissue!!! So don't panic !!! It's great that you have wonderful support group. Look forward to meeting you someday in person at the coaching for victory classes that he has us to attend! They are in his office building!! You can start comming now if you want to. I go on thursdays from 12-2:00. Franny in smyrna
