Happy New Year from a Newbie

Hello everyone! Happy New Year! :party: I have been approved for surgery and will go this coming week for my pre-op tests. Please keep your fingers crossed that everything will work out. I'm really going to try to keep my blog, etc. updated so that I might be as helpful to future members as a lot of you have been to me. Have a great one - more to come!

Hello again! I had most of my pre-op testing today (chest x-ray, upper GI :barf:, EKG, etc.). I go back tomorrow for some blood work. Regarding your replies: Juanita - Thanks for your well wishes. I appreciate the support. Ellen - I will be praying for you to get your approval as well. I know when I got the phone call, it seemed as if I could already feel the weight (no pun intended) of this burden already starting to lift. I wish you the best of luck. Susan - I don't have a date yet. The nurse at my doctor's office said that the consultation with the doctor usually comes about three weeks after the pre-op testing is complete. Hopefully, they'll surprise me and call a little sooner. Janie - I will be having my surger at Methodist Germantown in Memphis. Dr. George Woodman is my doctor. I am so glad I found this board. I do have a few supporters on the outside, but just as many non-supporters who want to talk me out of it. It's just so hard to explain a decision like this to someone who hasn't been in my shoes...

HI Kim, Congratulations on your approval. I don't live too far from you (Millington). Which doctor are you using? I have Dr. Woodman in Memphis. I just recently got my surgery date and will be having (hopefully) my surgery on Feb. 5th. Lisa

Hi Lisa, I replied to another post of yours regarding Dr. Woodman and his 20 pound weight loss request from you. Please see that reply for more information. You really aren't too far away. A friend that I used to work with lives in Millington. He used to drive to Brownsville everyday for work! Better him than me. I just don't like to drive that much. Hang in there. Maybe someday we can be in Dr. Woodman's "before and after" presentation at his office and on his website :sexy:. Have a good one. Kim
