Everyone I was able to get in my protien today. I tried putting it in a smoothie and I got really sick and i could not take it any other way. Well today i knew something had to be done I thought about that smoothie i made and it came to me . Peanut butter might had gotten me sick. So today I made another smoothie with yogurt and three scoop's of protien and a real banana and 2% milk. It took me all day but I finally got some of it in me and did not get sick. I am going to see if I can drank it this way and not get sick after two weeks of it. I think my nerves are getting to me too. I got in a fight in a target parking lot two days before christmas with three woman who were being an A** hole to me and my disable mother. I did not let them treat me or my mother badly I started cussing them out and I could not just stop there either. I was so angry that I was shaken. I had to stop and pick up some last minute items of food for christmas dinner and I ran into them in the grocery store too. My first thought was to run and not start another fight. Then a spark went through me I took off my coat and straighten my shoulders and raised my head high and brought up my chin to and eyed them and daring them with my eyes to do something. I was so proud of myself, before my surgery I would let anyone talk any way to me and let them get away with it. Not now I will not let anyone do it. But the main problem was a hour after I got home I started crying about the fussing match with these three women. I felt so terrible about dropping down to these three woman's levels that I started crying for the past four days about it. My emotions and hormones are working against me again. I feel really terrible about letting my temper get control of me. And when I get this upset I start throwing up because I am that upset. So I think my stomach is reacting to my stress level this past week. I know it is not good. Plus my Period is pushing my hormone levels majorily over the top. IS anyone going through this too? I haven't had my surgery yet, so I can't ***Really*** understand your problems with the protein. I hope your tummy settles down for you here soon. Having upset tummy is about the worst, imho. About the fight with the women (I almost put "ladies") .... Isn't it just getting more and more obvious that the level of rudeness and people being nasty to each other just gets higher and worse every single day! I guess the only answer is to not allow anybody to walk all over you, but without stooping to the level of foul language and even physical violence we see every day. That's the way I am trying to overcome things, anyway. Good luck! Love Dennie

It most likely is the peanut butter. For me, I was cleared for peanut butter pretty early out, and since I have always *not so much liked as tolerated* it, I bought some organic, NSA, LF stuff that had extra protein added to it. I dumped. BADLY. I tried regular peanut butter, NSA, LF, FF, SF, organic, power butter, you name it -- every bit of it makes me dump. Badly. Like within minutes, I am gagging and sweating and sick, sick, sick. You may ask why on earth would I try it more than once, the answer is simple -- I can eat peanuts. I chew them to death -- they turn into peanut butter between my teeth and I do just fine. Nuts = no problem, peanut butter = huge problem. I even tried making my own peanut butter in the food processor, added nothing to it, and it made me dump. Don't ask me...I donno.... I say, if you can tolerate the shakes without the peanut butter, do so. Many of us find our tastes change post-op, or we cannot tolerate some foods that just don't make sense. For me, it's peanut butter, LOL! --joanna 331/325/117/140 consult/surgery/current/goal

It is odd how different doctors do different restrictions, but mine says ABSOLUTELY no peanut butter although 2 years ago he allowed it. My brother went first, so he got PB but I don't. I am one month out from surgery and down 43 pounds. My best protein drinks are using UNJURY unflavored, strawberry or vanilla and mixing into a 16 oz of Orange Sunrise or Fruit Punch Crystal light. It is smooth, gets 20g of protein in and never any issues. I pour it back into the water bottle so I can shake it up as needed and I also add 2 paks of Splenda into the mix. Ocassionally if at home I will stick it inthe freezer for maybe an hour to get some "ice glaze" in it. Unjury is available at Tennessee Products. Try googling Tennessee Products Bariatric and I think that will get it. It mixes well and is flavored just right. Hope that helps.
