Gallbladder surgery

Hey y'all, Everything went well with my gallbladder removal on Friday morning. I think this pain was a lot worse than the gastric bypass, though I wasn't hooked up to a morphine pump with the gallbladder removal. I've been drinking loratab like its water. It is really hard getting in and out of bed so I haven't done much walking to help with the gas, but lord knows I'm trying. I'm just now getting somewhat of an appetite back. I have been way too dizzy to stand up. Gosh, I'm such a baby lol Dr. Houston told my husband that the gallstone was the size of an olive which really has no significance to me because I don't know what sizes they come in lol Anyways, all is good here. Hope I didn't miss anything on the boards Did anyone set any plans in stone for the get together on the 9th as in where and what time? Also, as soon as I can, I'll be sending everyone who signed up the christmas card exchange list. Hope everyone is well and having a great weekend! April

Hi April, glad all went well, and that you are back home. An olive, that's a good size. Did they do it laproscopic or major incision? After a couple of days you will be feeling much better. If you are drinking Loratab like water, no wonder you are dizzy. Get well. Love ya, Kathy

Thanks Kathy, Today, I'm feeling about 80% of myself. Come to find out, I was over dosing on the loratab.... my husband told me to take 1 to 2 Tablespoons as needed...well it was suppose to be teaspoons. No wonder the last 4 days have been a blur. They did do it laprascopic so I'm starting to look a little bit like swiss cheese haha no big deal though. Thanks for the well wishes. April

Hi April, Glad all went well. If, I get approved they will remove my gallbladder. My ultra sound showed I have a lot of stones. I didn't even know it. Maybe it will help me get approved. Is that a co-mobility? lol Ellen

Hi Ellen, Hopefully you'll be able to get both procedures done at the same time. This gallbladder removal was a doozy! The my suregon told my husband I had a stone the size of an olive. I'm assuming thats a pretty good size stone. I don't think gallstones are considered a co-morbidity though.. hate to burst your bubble but if you have a bmi over 40, you don't have to have co-morbidities so no need to worry about that. Take care! April

Glad to hear it went well. And I agree that the post op pain was worse for the gallbladder surg than it was for the rny. But there is something to be said for being on the delauded drip for three days like I was with the rny.

Very true! I certainly wished I had one lol The pain is much more tolerable today though. Take care, April
