Hey guys! First of all, thanks for such great support about my mom. I almost wasn't going to post this one but a great friend, Kathy N. just sent the most beautiful prayer about this and it made me realize that I need them all. My mom is better...thank you all for prayers, I think that's what has made her have a miraculous turnaround. Unfortunately, my life is crazier than ever. I was upset with my little brother because he didn't show up for Thanksgiving and it's his first in ten years because he has been out of state and because it may be my mom's last. I even posted on my profile about it. Well, found out Friday that he is in St. Thomas with a staph infection and was unconcious until then. Wow, do i feel guilty. He is a heart patient and has had so many problems since last April...he has had open heart surgery and a stroke and now this...and he is only 31 years old! Then Friday evening I got a horrible call. My best friend's husband of fifteen years, and a dear friend of mine for nearly thirty years, died suddenly Thanksgiving night. Visitation was tonight and I was with her for the entire time but the funeral is tomorrow and so are my pre-ops. I told her I would reschedule and she flipped out and said absolutely not and that her hubby was so excited for me that he would be angry if I did anything to jeopardize my surgery date. So, unless I get done super fast with everything, I will not get to go to the funeral. I know this all sounds like a soap opera, and I wi**** wasn't happening, but it is and I feel like my head is spinning and I am going crazy. I am better today but I am still just so sad and so worried for everyone I love. Julie, my friend, and her hubby, Justin, did not have insurance so I don't know how she will pay for the funeral. It is times like this that I wish I had all the money needed to make sure my loved ones are taken care of. Soooooo, what I am posting this for is to ask everyone once again for prayers. I ask for prayers for my brother and especially for my friend Julie as she buries her husband tomorrow. She is young and feeling that she is looking at a lifetime of lonliness. She is wanting to have wls and I pray this doesn't make that impossible. Thanks to all of you for all your support...I feel blessed to have you all to turn to in times like this!

Prayers go out to you and your friends and family Kym. It never fails that crisis always occur when you are doing something very important for yourself. Go to Julie's after the preop. She may need you more after the burial. Especially when everyone else leaves. Give her a hug from us and keep us updated on your brother.

Kym, I'm so sorry to hear about... everything. When it rains, it pours huh? I'm definitely keeping you, your friends and family in my prayers. If you need anything while you're in Nashville, just give me a holler! April

You've really had a rough week! You know you are already on my prayer list and I will certainly add these new concerns too. That was so sweet of your friend to still be so supportive even in the midst of her loss. That's the kind of friends you deserve. I'm sure she knows you will be there for her in the days to come when she really needs you. Right now she is surrounded by people. She is going to need you when they have all gone home and the reality of her loss sets in. Give her a big hug from me. Susan

Thanks you guys for the support. I am feeling better today and am going to be able to focus on my three upcoming final exams and two papers due on Tuesday. Julie is still in a daze but knows I am always there for her. My brother had heart surgery today at St. Thomas as it turns out what was the problem was the dacron shield he had in from his heart surgery last April. It was infected and he has a bolis of infection from poor healthcare at a local hospital a month ago. He is paralyzed in his leg but they say it is probably temporary. He is sore but he is alive!!! Thanks again for the prayers and support...it means so much! Oh, my mom is better but this bout has left her completely blind so she is having surgery tomorrow to see if they can do anything. Her mind is back to as sharp as it was before all this so we are so thankful. She is feisty!

I'm glad your mother is doing better, and I hope your brother gets better quickly. Sounds like he's really been through the rollers lately. St. Thomas is a very good place to be, and he is in good hands. And your friend losing her hubby. Just so much going on. Try to take good care of yourself. It's really common for someone who has someone in hospital to get sick too. Stress and not eating and resting right and all that. Love Dennie
