First fill for Lap Band

Hello to everyone, and I hope, that all had a nice Thanksgiving. I am four weeks, post op, for the Lap Band surgery. I will have my first fill, two weeks from Monday, the 28th. Can anyone, give me some information about this. I know, how the procedure is done, but how long does it take to effect? Also, is it easier to lose the weight, after you start these procedures. I seem to be stuck at what I have already lost. Thank you, ksm Kathie Canter

Good morning Kathie ... there are some of us on the lap band board and also patients of Dr Dyer ..all of us live in Tennessee too ...I have met a great lady from Tennessee and we are going to set up a meeting when we go for a check up , at Dr Dyers office so we can chat in person .. maybe you can join us one day... she had surgery on my birthday lol ..July 27.. she has had two fills we chat all the time and she tells me what to expect my first fill is Dec.1 .. but we post all of our information on the lap- band board so we can help and tell other bandsters what to expect.... that is where you will get your information for all lap band recipes , help and problems.. . most all on this board have had Rny ... as you already know .... Hi Kathie, Any weight you have lost prior to restriction is just a bonus so don't be discouraged at being stuck right now. You should notice a difference immediately after your 1st fill but everyone is different so it may take a few fills before you get to the right restriction. It took about 3 fills for me. I have some restriction but I still can eat almost anything just in smaller amounts. Remember, the weight loss is slow but believe the time will fly by and it will add up! Best of luck, Stephanie -102
