Suggestion if you are pre-op or early post-op

Someone suggested this to me before I had surgery, and I am SO glad they did.  Since there seems to be a bunch of new folks on here lately, I wanted to pass it along...

Save a couple of pieces of clothing (or at least one pair of pants) from your "fat clothes".  This will give you a very concrete way to see how much weight are are losing (which can be helpful when you hit a stall and get discouraged) and will give you a "pick me up" and reality check when/if you find yourself having an "I still feel fat" day (or week, or month!) once you ahve lost the weight.  Somehow having actual clothing is MUCH more concrete and convincing than just having photos or measurements.

Also, for those of you who have a LOT of weight to lose (sorry, lightweights, you probably won't be able to do this), it is fun -- and a REALLY amazing feeling -- to be able to stand with both legs in one leg of your pre-op pants:

That's an awesome idea and you look AMAZING!!! Thank you for sharing this!!! My surgery is in 5 days and I never would have thought about keeping a pair of my fat jeans!

Maybe after I take a picture standing in one of my pant legs, I'll make a blanket with the front of my jeans sewed in the middle of the blanket to always remember where I came from and to have something to keep me warm when I start getting cold all of the time.

I saved one of my favorite "fat" dresses (it was a little loose pre-op) and when I hold it up to myself now, it LOOKS like a blanket!

Yup.... I don't like the photo, and I think I accidentally threw that pair of pants into the good-will bag, though I have one more place to look before giving it up.
