Yes, I had to do lovenox.  And yes, I like isopure, except for the carpet of protein left on your tongue!  LOL!  I just bru**** off, spit it out, and go on with life.  I like the taste of the isopure, so I'll put up with a little protein residue!  Good luck to you!

Hi, congratulations on the band...I had mine done 5 weeks ago,a nd two weeks prior was on liquids...so in 7 weeks have lost almost 30 lbs...lack 1 1/2 lbs to the 30 loss.  Went back to see the surgeon this past friday the 19th and said he felt I did not need a fill yet and to come back in August.  I am doing great...no pain after surgery, just tenderness around the surgery sites.  I did not have to do isopur...I did slim fast shakes...make my own up with the slim fast powder...add a half of banana, or like this morning, cut up a fresh peach...very good!  I didn't even have gas pains after surgery.  But everyone heals differently, and experiences different things.
The doctor told me to be sure to get my protien in and drink plenty of water, and other beverages.  I found the Special K protien waters are very good and really do suppress the appetite.....I carry the little individual powder packetts in my purse when I am running errands and need a boost.
Best wishes to you and your success.  You will do just fine!  Farmgirl58

Congrats on your surgey. Glad to hear that everything is goind good for you. I was banded on Friday and having terrible gas. Some times I don't know if it is my stomach growling or if it gas. Does anyone have advice on getting rid of the gas?

Congrats on your band!!! I was not sent home with Lovenox after surgery. I have had to do it after being hopitalized last summer tho...not fun, I had my Mom do it...LOL

For my protein shakes, I drink Cyto Sport Complete Whey Low Fat, the flavor I like is Chocolate Mint Chip...yummy. No chunks and doesn't dry out my tongue.

Be sure to follow your Doctor's suggestions on when to move to mushie foods and solids...you'll need to give you body time to heal!!!

Good luck and keep us posted!!!!

Dr. "Neil" did not prescribe Lovenox for me. It is an individualized assessment, but he did not explain the factors that he takes into account.  I believe that if "Dr. Craig" prescribed it, there must have been a need.  When do you see him?

You mentioned FF Italian Ice.  Is it also sugar free?  If yes, where did you get it and what is it called?  The sorbet that we got in the hospital smelled and tasted like floor cleaner!  I couldn't bear it after the first time.

I'm so glad that you're not suffering with pain.

Keep up the terrific work you're doing.
Ariela
