Could use some support.....

Some of you are on my facebook and saw that we are grieving for a family that was close to us. My step son Zack is 19 and and his best friend Matt is 23 and his wife was 26 and they had a 13 month old daughter Lila and April was pregnant with their second daughter.She was to have a C-section yesterday.
We have become very close to this family. I run a daycare and baby sat Lila on occasion. April and I were only a few weeks apart on our due dates of our babies and became very close being we were pregnant at the same time.
Yesterday the most tragic thing possible happened. Matt who was a Iraq war vet...(suffered PTSD) took a gun and killed his pregnant wife and their daughter and then himself. Matt was the sweetest man. He took my step son under his wing and my 10 year son. He took them fishing all the time and was just SO good to them. He would have given the shirt off his back to anyone. Something had to have snapped. They spent so much time at our house..I would have never seen this coming. They were having marriage issues. They were a young couple who were scared about a new baby coming. And they were not the most financially stable couple.
I can't even wrap my head around this. My heart is just breaking in two. I'm so mad that he could do this. But at the same time I know this was not the man I knew who killed his family.

Please keep my family and their families in your thoughts and prayers.

I can't even put into words how sorry I am!! People don't realize PTSD is sooo serious. My Hubby came back home from a 1.5 tour from Iraq and at night would I would move or get up to pee he would jump out of bed and freak out. It scared the crap out of me. We have had many friends come back different. It wasnt until recently that men and women accually confront there PTSD. It used to be frowned upon. It saddens me as a soldiers wife to hear this kind of stuff b/c all he did for his country. I wish there was something I could say or do to take you and your families pain away. All I can do is pray for you guys. Please take care of yourself and the baby.

I just read something the other day that during the last few years the military was refusing to even acknowledge the PTSD from the Iraq/Afghanistan soldiers. They were just discharging them as 'mentally deficient' or with a 'personality disorder' so that they didn't have to pay benefits for them. It's only been in the last year or so, after a Congressional inquiry, that they finally started acknowledging the PTSD.
