Getting pregnant on Mirena????

Ok..after reading a member's response to another post, I had to post a new topic about this.  Has anyone gotten pregnant while on the Mirena?  I had mine placed at my 6 week  post-partum visit in May and my cycles have been all over the place ever since.  How would you even know you are pregnant unless you just take random tests?  I know that no form of birth control is 100%, but I just wouldn't expect to get pregnant while on the Mirena.

Now, I am nervous..  Any feedback will be appreciated.

There are actually a couple of us on here that got pregnant with a Mirena IUD.
I had mine in place for over a year before I got pregnant. I had a feeling that something was up when my boobs started to hurt and I thought I was coming down with the stomach flu. I jokingly told DH I was going to buy a pregnancy test to confirm I was just going crazy... I nearly passed out when it popped up "pregnant" within seconds. We have 17 month old twins and DID NOT want more kids so soon.
Early on things were really stressful because the IUD must come out or it can cause complications, but removing it can also cause a miscarriage.
I'm over 13 weeks now and baby is looking great, no bleeding or placenta placement issues that my OB was worried about.

IUDs aren't 100%, even though my OB assured me it was the best protection you can get. Use a back-up method like condoms to be extra safe. 

Nothing is 100%, but it is pretty rare to get pregnant with an IUD. More common is spotting and irregularity after getting an IUD. The Mirena can cause intermittent spotting, especially during the first year you have it in. It usually settles down though and typically your period diminishes quite a bit.

I had mine for 5 years and never got pregnant with it. I plan on getting another one after this baby is born.

I also got the IUD 6 weeks post -op.  My periods are also all over the place.  Some months I have one , other months no.  I have spotting and such too.   I"m not too worried about being pregnant .  The odds of getting pregnant are very low.  My doctor told me the 1st year my periods would be all messed up and evantually I might not even have a period.  

I had the mirena for 2 years and never got pregnant.  I also didn't have regular periods.   I would take a pregnancy test every couple of months.   I like not having periods, but I always wonder in the back of my mind if I'm pregnant.     I had my tubes tied after having Noah.   I've not had a period in 6 months.   I took a test yesterday (of course it was negative).    I'm a freak like that lol.   I don't want to be one of the crazies on the show I didn't know I was pregnant!
