My 2nd baby is now 11 months old....I wanted to lose 30 left over pounds from pregnancy....After by gastric bypass 3 years ago; I've had two babies back to back.....I almost forgot how to lose weight!  How do you get your tool back to work?  Any suggestions?

I have a different surgery than you, but I hear a lot of RNY folks rave about the 5 day pouch test/diet.

it's supposed to jump start your weight loss again. http://5daypouchtest.com/
At the very least, going back to basics always works. Protein first, limit carbs, exercise!
Goodluck!

Thank you!  THANK YOU!!!  I will defintely give it a try!  I have nothing to lose at this point!  TWINS?!?!?  OH MY!!!  Were you able to conceive before surgery?  I have two little miracle babies I conceived post G/B.  Congratulations on your pregnancy!  Had you tried the pouchtest?

I am on day three of this test; and believe it or not, I am feeling it already.  Meaning I am starting to lose some of my desire to eat bad things.  I won't lie and say day 1 & 2 weren't tuff, but I made it through.  Today (soft proteins) was a piece of cake comparing the days.  I would at least give the diet a good read through and if it is for you give it a try.

Stacey, how did all 5 days go?  How much did you lose total?  Do you still consume the protein drinks on days 3-5?

It went well.  I actually can really tell a difference again in eating.  I lost five pounds.  In days 3-5 I did great with protein and didn't even care really much about carbs.  I have still kept to reduce carbs, but am in Chicago in training, so I have been looking at menus before going to restraunts (want to be sure I am not doing overload on cal/carbs).  I actually got a stomach ache yesterday after eating five jumbo shrimp a piece of bread and 1/2 Cup of soup.  It was great if you want to call it that, that my pouch feels like it used to.  (Well not since day one; but back to much much smaller portions).

One thing to note, I didn't see the weight loss until the last day, so don't get on the scale until after day 5.

Good luck,  let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanks, Stacey
