22 weeks pregnant and still feeling bad
I am having so many problems with my pregnancy my baby is fine but I am feeling bad tired and weak and sometimes my legs even go numb. I went to the doctor and he told me that I was just anemic. So I am taking my iron again and still not feeling any better. I still have not gain any weight and I think thats a good thing and my doctor does too but it just feels wired. Anyone having theses problems?

I feel ya there!! I am always tired, weak, and get shaky legs. Strange thing is my iron levels are good so that was not the problem for me. I was told that when I start to feel that way to eat something with sugar and a good carb. I usually eat a peanut butter and regular jelly sandwich. Then it all goes away after a bit. I also get dizzy sometimes when I stand up and feel like I am going to pass out. I have no idea why..I am going to mention that to my Ob at my appt next Thursday. I also have not gained any weight which is a good thing. I just think the reason I am feeling that way is because maybe I need to eat more cause what I am eating the baby is taking it all from me..and not leaving anything left for me which causes me to be very tired and weak and all of that. That is just what I am assuming..I am not a dr...but I am seeing a nutritionist at my next visit. And of course low iron does make you feel all those systems..and it may take awhile for your iron levels to get back up. But Like I said I am having those problems too but my iron is fine.
Miss Dee, I'm so sorry to hear that. I too am tired all the time and my Iron was an issue. I even went to the ER due to getting dissy after getting up from a lying position. I was told that my Iron was low (I use Bifera , which is a HEME complex Iron) and that I need to introduce some carbs into my life.
I know this is going to sound weird, but after visiting my surgeon he said to exercise to combat the fatigue....hmmmm I thought...if I'm tired why would I do something that will get me more tired? The thing is the indorfins (not sure if I spelled that right, so excuse me) you'll get will help. The more we train our bodies to tolerate fatigue through movement the better off. I'm going to start a regular exercise regime to see if he's on to something. I hope things get better for you...
Out of curiosity what kind of Iron do you take? The reason I ask is I learned that all Iron is not created equal and not all Iron is great for absorbtion.
