Anyone have a successful pregnancy after Mirena IUD removed~ after WLS????

I am looking for real people who had their Mirena IUD removed then had a successful pregnancy after wls???

My 3 year anniversary for the surgery was 5/7/2010.  I had my Mirena IUD removed on 5/7/2010.  Happy Anniversary to me!!!! I had it in place for 3 years, I was due to have it replaced in 2012.  I got my first period after 3 years on 5/26, it lasted until 5/29.  I was using an ovulation moniter.  It said my most fertile days were between June 6th throught the 10th.  My husband and I had some fun on 5/7.  About two weeks later I got a positive pregnancy test.  I am due on 3/2/2011. This will be our second.

My GYN said it could possibly take anywhere from 30 days to 6 months for me to become fertile again.  SHE WAS SOO WRONG!!!  I depends on your body. Some people it takes over a year.  You body will tell you when its ready!!! Good luck and have fun TTC!!!!

 Yup. Sure did! I had my Mirena placed after the birth of my son, a year later had my RNY, and about a year and a half after that, had it removed, and about 3 months later was pregnant with our second son. He was just born on 8/7 and is healthy and strong! I had a no complication pregnancy - except, of course, that I gained too much weight! However, of the 50 lbs I put on, I am already down 30. So, I guess it wasn't ALL my fault! :-)

I got it removed in March, we didn't start trying until May 1st.....If ultrasounds are a true indication of the baby's age- he was concieved May 1st. So I guess we had no trouble! lol

This pregnancy was actually conceived while on the Mirena IUD (talk about a HUGE surprise). I had to have an emergency IUD removal at 5 week pregnant to prevent any possible complications and so far so good.

Goodluck! I know several non-WLS women who got pregnant their first cycle after having their IUDs removed, but I think 2 of them had the copper Paraguard (?) IUDs.

Okay...you just took my breath away when you said that you got pregnant with the Mirena in.  I know that nothing is 100% effective, but now I am a little concerned.  How long had you had the Mirena?  How did you even know that you were pregnant?  My cycles have been so crazy since I had my baby and had the Mirena placed that I really wouldn't know.

My OB said he's seen several Mirena pregnancies but the majority of them end in a miscarriage because the IUD prevents the embryo from fully implanting in the uterus, or the IUD removal causes bleeding between the placenta/uterus.

I had RNY August 2005. Had a Mirena put in October 2005. I kept the Mirena 4 years then decided to have it out because of side effects. It was removed Sept 29, 2009. We weren't trying, nor were we preventing, but I got pregnant February 2010.

My Mirena fell out (it does happen) and then we decided to try, I got pregnant 4 months later.

Had mine out, got pregnant 2 months later!
