I was wondering if anyone else has had left side pain sorta like mid section on the left side being pregnant? Just about everyday either my left side hurts and Im constantly stretching it out and sometimes both of my sides hurt about mid section. I asked a friend about this and she said maybe its my uterus stretching? I am just curious if anyone has had this before being pregnant? Just want to make sure it is nothing serious cause I do not want to go to the Er for left side pain if they are going to say its normal for a pregnant woman. I googled it and it also was saying could be a numerous of things.

What kind of pain is it? Does it feel like cramps? Is it constant? Does it come and go? Is it unbearable or tolerable?

The pain is tolerable..it comes and goes..unless i move just right then its there. Mostly if I do stretches it does help and goes away but then it comes back. Feels more like a muscle spasm not a cramp. However the pain is there everyday since I got pregnant..I noticed it before I even found out i was pregnant and when I did I was already 3 weeks pregnant.

Sounds like it's just your uterus stretching. It's kind of low, right? I started feeling it around 10 weeks and still feel it now. I noticed that even though I wasn't gaining weight, that my waist was getting thicker... so I stopped wearing my size 10's and went up to 12's, and not having a tight waistband around my belly all day really helped!

Yeah it is a little above the waistline. I am really feeling it now more than I did before. I just hit 12 weeks on sunday. I was wearing 13s and 15s but now I cannot wear them so I am back to wearing my leggings now. I have so many leggings cause I have not broke down and bought tons of jeans or anything cause I was still wanting to lose more weight before I got pregnant. Then I was going to start buying jeans to wear when I got to my goal. I only ever bought 5 pair of jeans since i had my surgery. And 2 pair of shorts for this summer. Any other time I wore capri leggings or leggings.

Left side pain can mean constipation as well, your large intestine is there.  Hard to say but probably just you growing and stretching.

Well I ended up at the hospital today for pain in my left side. It started off this morning and continuously worsened until I was balled up on my bathroom floor in pain and crying. (I NEVER CRY). My husband is currently away for 10 days in Germany so I had to call a friend to take me to the hospital. I was really hesitant to tell then at first that I had RNY because I didn't want them to just say oh...the pains from that then.

The pain was similiar to contractions.... it came and went with great intensity and got worse with time.
But I told them I had RNY and guess what they immediately tried to say... oh that's why your having so much pain.

I could hardly breathe during the intense pains and I couldn't talk through them. The doctor said that its rare for someone to have contractions at 19 weeks and so he only wanted to blame the surgery. It was really frustrating.

They monitored the baby, did an ultrasound and said everything looked fine. They gave me an IV with a relaxer med that would stop the contractions if that was what they were. About 1- 1.5 hours later.... the pain almost completely stopped and went away.

The doctor stressed the importance of resting and taking it very easy. I just stopped working...and now it seems I am going to be put on permanent no work status because the doctor feels like its just too stressful for my body and the baby.

Good luck and if it worsens ... get checked out. Especially for the peace of mind that our little ones ok.
