Things no one tells you about baby girls

I just thought I would give a quick update.  Baby Sage is doing great.  I started pumping instead actually breast feeding and it seems to be going a lot better for both of us.  She gets the good stuff and mommy doesn't fall asleep feeding her for an hour at a time.  I got my staples out yesterday, didn't hurt.  I'm still having some pain from the c-section but nothing I can't handle.

Any way the other night we were giving Sage a sponge bath, we opened her diaper and were very surprised.  I was told little girls may have some discharge because they get some of the moms hormones.  Well no one told me there could be blood in it.  It looked just like a period.  I was scared.  I texted my midwife and she called me back and told me it was totally normal and should go away in a week or two.  Now that is something I thought I would mention because it was so startling.

I will update again soon, gotta go cuddle my baby!

Karen, you are right, it can be scary for new moms. Sometimes they get little boobies also so don't beworried.  She is a cutie, enjoy.

She looks great--glad all is well.  I had to do the pump and not actually feed as well.  I actually couldn't do to my breast didn't have anything for her to latch onto...(probably TMI right..LOL) anyways, it also is nice because my husband is helping feed her etc...

And my little lady had lots of discharge, but dr. says no fear!

Sage is beautiful!!! Ya my mom is a nurse and warned me about "mini periods." It's nothing to worry about. How is Miss Sage sleeping? I love seeing pics of her!

She's sleeping really well, up twice last night.  She's been sleeping all day today, just cannot seem to keep her awake! hope she sleeps tonight for me!!

LOL...having only had a boy...I can imagine how that would freak you out if you didn't know to expect something. 

She's beautiful...glad tht she's sleeping well for you.  Rest is what you need so you've got time to heal up.

Whoa. I would have been a bit freaked out too! Uh, anything else that I need to know about little girls? Lol. She is such a cutie pie btw!

She is so cute!!! I had heard about the discharge, but not the blood. That would have freaked me out too!

Congrats on your baby, she is very cute.

Also babies (both boy or girls) can also leak "milk" ( Also called Witches Milk) from their breasts. Don't squeeze it, it will go away by it's self.

I was going to mention this too. I freak a friend's husband out when I told him this afer they had a baby boy, LOL He was shocked at how right I was too, LMAO!!
