Contractions or some other type of pain?

I'm trying to figure out if these are indeed contractions or just some other kind of pain like gas, or ligament pain. As soon as I woke up and got out of bed this morning, off and on, I've been having lower stomach pain, but it's on one side only. It was so severe this morning that I could hardly walk. I decided to wait a little bit and see if it went away. It got better after about 10 minutes but never fully went away, it's just a dull annoying pain now. Well it came back again and this after noon and this time, I think that I might be having a contraction cause my stomach is getting harder. I never went into labor on my own with my daughter, I was induced so I don't really know what I'm supposed to expect. I know I never had pain like this with her. This pain is similar to what I was experiencing when I was working my second job I had for like a week. It is in the exact same spot, it just seems like it's worse and I haven't been exerting myself. They told me before that it was just round ligament pain. I can't imagine round ligament pain hurting this bad, but maybe I'm wrong. The worst of it is over, I just still feel some pain, but at the moment it's bearable. If I get the pain again should I go into the hospital or wait it out again. It's making me paranoid.

I would call your on-call ob and see what they say. If your ob office doesn't have one then go to the hospital, better be safe than sorry!

I called the ob doc and she said to drink more and rest and see if it goes away. It has gotten alot better so I'm not too worried anymore.

You could always put in a call to your Dr., but I don't know if it warrants the time or expense for the ER- I have gotten some like that. At times it is just the baby laying funny in there. My Dr told me to try some Tylenol to see if that helped. It sounds like it is probably just muscles stretching, especially if it is in the same spot as before. Try a heating pad too. Good luck.

That was my first thought. It's in the exact same spot as before and I would think that true contractions would feel more low and in the middle not off to one side. Anyway, the pain is much better now.

I would call the doc. Just in case they will prob have you come in for an NST and monitor you. Its prob nothing, but i's be careful anyway since your only 31 weeks. Let is know how things go! Good luck!

Call your Dr. just to make sure it's nothing serious. Doesn't sound like contractions, but there are other things it could be.

I hope everything is ok! Let us know!

I agree with the other ladies - put a call into the OB - can't hurt.

I would think that they'll recommend drinking more fluids and laying on your left side to see if it goes away. I had a similar pain around that point in time and they told  me it was RLP - it hurt constantly and was nagging. I did get better with time. Oh and maybe a warm bath?

Hope you are feeling better tonight!
