Good luck working this out!

My mom used to call me and say "how's my baby??" and I'd say "I'm fine mom, thanks for asking!"  I think after saying that 30 or so times, she got the hint.  ;)

I will say that my MIL set up a nursery in her house while my mom didn't.  It didn't bother me, but it was primarily used for naps while we were visiting.  There were many times when I wished my mom had a nursery in her house b/c my kids would never sleep there and we had to work around their naps.  No fun.  But I did put my foot down that no one would be keeping my child overnight until I was absolutely ready.  My MIL begged, and I said no.  She ended up keeping my daughter the first time when I went into labor with my second.  Now I have 2 kids - 2.5 and 3.5 and I couldn't pay the grandparents to take them - they say they're too much work!  Times have changed!!  I get down on my knees and beg for one night of silence!  lol

You're lucky you have a mother who is excited for you and eager to be a part of your child's life.  I understand that it's annoying to have her refer to the baby as "hers," but if that's the least of your worries, you have it pretty easy!

Tell your mom the most your baby will need at her house is a pack and play, and highchair. Lugging those things around are a pain, and maybe she'll be happy because she'll be able to pick out the 2 things by herself. She does not need a "nursery". That's ridiculous.
