I also had a mastopexy, along with brachioplasty, same surgeon as Gwen. I was really surprised what size bra I needed post surgery since it was not so different than my pre-surgery size but the difference in droop, perk, and shape is amazing. I also sense that there is a difference between the full-figure and regular versions of bras that have the same numerical and alphabetical size. I never would have gone for implants but the lift made an incredible difference in how I look and feel. I will also say that the recovery was easy and the scars are super fine.

Hi,

I am new to this forum, but its rather usefull so far. I am planning to have a tummy tuck and lipo toward the end of the year and was researching the options. Should I go back to Europe to have it done, or do it in Singapore. I went to see Dr Woffles and all looks well, though expensive and he was a bit arrogant. Dont want to do it in Bangkok as I hear to many bad stories from there. Last week I was watching Fasttrack on BBC world and they featured a company in Penang called Beautiful Holidays, it looked great and the quote I got from them is intresting. Has anybody been there or have friends who have been there?? Would love to know about your experience

Please help.

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.

I had mastopexy only, no augmentation. I had an upper body lift at the same time. I went from being a 36DD to a 32DD. Same brand, so same sizing. (I'm 31 underbust and 36 at the largest point.) My surgeon told me to expect "large B, small C." Hahahahaha.

It is not uncommon that a breast lift (aka mastopexy) without augmentation may make you smaller (1 cup size). The goal of a breast lift is to lift your breasts back to their former, higher position on the chest, which involves trimming excess skin. BUT the difference reflects the changing profile of the breast rather than a true reduction in breast size. So even though your bra cup size may change, that may be due to previously needing to wear a larger bra cup size for comfort and to fit the sagging tissue, and not because your actual breast is smaller after surgery. Sagging breasts just fills out a larger than actual bra cup size than non-sagging breasts.

You may require augmentation to get a fuller look than what your breasts were like at your lowest weight in high school (B/C cup). Or you may like the new positioning of your breasts. Only you can decide what you prefer, but it sounds like some augmentation may be required to get the look you desire.

So a few days ago I went to my first ever plastic surgeon consult in my town. I won't go into the experience as it was a little lackluster, but I did walk away feeling very sad about my breasts.

In high school I was somewhere in between a B cup and a C cup until I got morbidly obese and they ballooned out to D/DD. Not full, perky, awesome breasts. More like sad sorry lopsided... You get the picture.

Now, after weight loss surgery, my breasts are the terrible tube socks that we all fear. I was hoping to be able to get a little augmentation, nothing drastic, just a little bit Ffuller, finally help me define my shape - as I have always been an extremely lopsided pear-shaped woman.

Unfortunately, the doctor said that to do a breast lift on me he would have to actually make my breast smaller, even taking some out of my bigger one to, make me smaller and more evenly matched. I was devastated. The last thing I want to be is even smaller than I already am. I know that's just vanity, but at least it's the truth.

Has anyone had a similar experience? Has anyone just had a lift without augmentation? If so I would love to see your pictures especially if you're someone who has a similar body type as my own. Thank you!

I hear you, when my insurance denied me I was crying for days. Then I got mad, took some really big color photos of all the open sores and the rest is history. For me the Plastic Surgery was just as important as my weight loss. It's been key to me not gaining all my weight back.

Once you have the surgery give it a least a year before you look in the mirror and see exactly what you are going to live with. Good Luck and keep us posted!

Hey guys! I'm one week and one day post op and wanted to update.

Things are so much better now, the worst is definitely behind me. I have had 3 of my 5 drains removed, and am starting to feel more like myself again. I will get the other 2 removed at two weeks post op.

My biggest complaint right now is the swelling. I can't wait for it to go down so I can see what my new size and look really is.

Overall my body is so unfamiliar to me, I can't believe this is my new life!!!

I am. I am going for a flapectomy (my word). The doc calls it a panniculectomy. I've only had the initial consultation so far where he described an inverted T operation. I've got a pre-op appointment in two weeks. I think there will be more details then.

My main complaint is paying for something for which I am receiving little value. What really galls me is being forced to buy something at a high price by government thuggery. We've had this insurance for all of three months now. Every time we've tried to use it, we have had trouble. Lots of trouble. So when they told me I was approved, I thought we'd finally had a breakthrough. I guess I should be happy they're paying some of it. But it is just one more in a list of frustrations that we never had before. We were with our former insurance for over 34 years. There were problems from time to time, but nothing on this level of frustration. I don't think I would have gotten so angry had it not been for some ongoing crapola with my kidney stone. That in itself has served to shorten my temper somewhat.

As for helping out, that would be great! You don't happen to have an extra 10 grand lying around you don't really need, do you? Haha, I was expecting to pay for it myself anyway so I'm set there. I'm just feeling like a line from a movie once. I don't even remember where it came from, but it went like this. "Don't pee down my back and tell me it's raining." That's sort of how I feel about this insurance company. They keep telling us how great our coverage is, but it pales compared to what we had until just recently.

Hi LittleBillJr,

Forgive me I am confused, I know you had the VSG, are you talking about plastic surgery? What are you getting done? Sadly, with most insurances it really doesn't pay much if at all. Have you thought about going to MX for PS? I have seen many members post they did so and were very happy with the results?

Good luck to you and let me know if there is anything I can do to help
