Has anyone had a cir****erial abdminalplasty.
I have blu cross blue shield insurence they payed fro my rny in 2007. they payed for pannetomy and hernina repair in 2009.
I went to the ps today and he wants to do this. all his nurses say i will feel great afterwards.
From what i understand I will be cut 360 degrees around the middle and things will be pulled up and down.He will use staple to close. recovery is10 weeks he says. he also said the insurence would not pay for this.
Just want to know if anyone has had this done or know any thing about it?? Thanks Wanda

It's also called a lower body lift. Try searching on that and you'll find a lot of information.

I had Circumferential abdominoplasty or Lower Body Lift (LBL) in November 2009.  I'm happy with it.  But if what you had in 2007 was a panniculectomy and hernia repair, I question how much skin you have now and if an LBL would be worth your while.

I have about 20 lbs of skin left. They couldn't do the tt and there is about 10 to 15 lbs there. Did you insurence pay for it?? I have blue cross blue shild federal. what concerns me if the cut all the way around and how did your heal up. How long were you out of work??

Insurance did not pay for it.  Most insurance companies only pay for the panni.  I took 2 months off work but could have gone back before that.

I;m very happy with mine, but had to pay for it myself.  I did not have pain afterwards.  it was just very tight.  I took four weeks off work and went back with no problem.  after 10 weeks could go back to light exercising.

Yeah I had one.  They cut too much of my stomach skin and hip skin and then had no choice but to pull  up thin groin skin to make up the difference.  It's been a nightmare living in a torture chamber.
