I personally think it's too soon.
Most surgeons want you to be at a healthy BMI (less than 25) and at or within 10 lbs of your final goal weight ...and stable for at least 6 months.
If you do it now and decide to lose another 30 lbs you will end up with saggy skin again.  I had my breast reduction done too early and ending up having to have a 2nd lift done them so believe me in the long run it pays to be at goal and wait.  I too wanted it done sooner but I am so glad I waited for all the rest of my plastics that I was at goal and a healthy bmi.

Just my 2 cents based on what I've learned and my personal experiences.
Best wishes on your journey

I think you need to wait because having a baby after tummy tuck would blow the whole purpose. I would suggest Gold Bond Powder for creases. I have used it since before RNY and it gets rid of the smell, which is a fungus/yeast thing, and keeps you dry longer. I could not live without it. Focus on all you've accomplished - you will eventually get rid of all that flappy stuff but right now you just need to find a medication/powder that helps the symptoms. I'll be thinking of you and praying the the Gold Bond Powder helps you as much as it has helped me. I'm over three years out - two years at goal and having TT in May.

I'm new to this as well and agree with what the PP's said.

I'd also like to add that I get the belly button thing.  I use to get it far more frequently before my RNY.  The area around my belly button would get really hard; shortly after that if I would bend over stuff would come out of my belly button.  I attributed it to something fat people deal with.

I talked about it with my PCP and he said it's probably an infection from trapped water after I shower.  So - make sure I dry off as best I can, and then for my belly button, swab it out gently with dry cotton swabs to make sure it's dry inside as well.

I haven't really had an episode like that since my RNY.  However, now that I am at goal and the way the skin hangs around my belly button, it's starting to get minor infections so I'm back to swabbing it dry.

Hi All,

Thanks for the replys, I spoke with my pcp and she recommended the powders too for now, which im ok with , and she told me that i should come in and see her, every time i get an "infection: so she can document, i guess this is the beggining of my plastics journey, and hopefully by the time im at goal, and have been at the stable weight i will have enough documentation and hopefully be able to have my plastics done.

I agree, i should definatly wait, its just sooo annoying having to deal with these smelly infections..lol..but i guess its something that will eventually help me get my plastics..

thanks again for listening and for your replys, i appreciate all the support..

best of luck to each and everyone of you!

take care!
